Well whenever I open up winamp, the system tray icon shows up, but it takes a long time to load up the winamp window (try around 2-3 minutes). Can someone tell me a solution to this problem?
I would not install the tray icon/WinAMP agent, its not needed, and the process remains resident in memory unless you disable it. You may want to consider installing WinAMP lite instead also.
You should try unistall winamp, run something like crap cleaner to erase all the registry entries and stuff and install the most recent version from scratch. I second Clements about the winamp/icon agent
I use the agent because it keeps other naughty programs from hijacking my file associations (media player, real player, etc) and I delete all shortcuts to winamp and only access it via the tray agent icon.
You can just set Windows Media Player to NOT use the specific file associations, and you should uninstall Realplayer. It's bloatware, spyware, and a dozen other kind of useless application.
