i have a old slot1 pentium3 mainboard, just wondering if it will work.
will a pentium3 370 800mhz, work in a evergreen 370socket to slot1 addapter??

Frist, does your mobo support 800MHz?
If so, do a google search to see if anybody had any luck in doing this.

Meaningless. All P3's are multiplier-locked and don't require any motherboard settings.
If the motherboard supports the P3's FSB, it WILL work. Period. Basically there are only two scenarios where it won't work:
1. You have a P3 Tualatin, which needs a lower voltage. Not possible because the Tullies started at over 1GHz.
2. Check the FSB requirement on that P3. Is it a P3 800EB or just 800E? If it's a B, it needs a 133MHz FSB. Make sure the board supports that.

i tryed a intel celerton 850mhz in the evergreen socket370 to slot1 addapter!but all i got was ablank screen, and when i tryed it in my 370 socket celeron board with no cpu jumpers it just put off steam!
the pentium3 board is a p3ce i think..

Not an expert on CPUs, but I think I can safely say your CPU has become deader than a dodo... steam from processor = not good.

oh well.to bad anyway it was just my celeron cpu shorted out for the 2ed time..just got my pentium3 800mhz socket 370 133fsb.

i rarely install a socket 370 to slot1 addapter.the 1st time i tryed to install a socket 370 cpu into a slot1 system, by useing a socket 370 to aslot1 addapter, i set all the jumpers right by the book that came with the addpater, but still i just got no video on screen, and no hd and cdrom boot, so after i just got this beeping sound.
now how much grease i put on the cpu and heat sink??
the last time i used some heat sink grease i used about the size of the cpu.
how munch do you people use??
