I also say there are no bigger difference between misery, dayve and Blownbybubbles (pj64er, should I count you too here?). Difference is that they are on different sides of the "console war" (and saying their opinions in different ways).

I think all consoles are good, but the games that comes to Xbox interests me most.

I don't. I don't think there should be any moving parts in games consoles. Yes that includes optical drives (but i don't see a viable alternative storage). My NES still works, and I bet in 15 years your new console won't (not that we'll be around in 15 years to take that up ) Having an HDD wouldn't matter if you could get it fixed real quick, at no cost, no hassle and w/o losing your content. That's what's so very nice about NES, SNES, N64, except the former's cart slot and the latter's analogue stick, theyre very durable. What are you meant to do, buy two x-boxes so you know you'll have one that works when you want it?

the hard dik in the xbox is a money generator i mean if they didnt put it in there the xbox would be near the £200.00 mark not any lower because of the broadband connection i mean it is in there not for you but for mr bill gates to earn more money than there competitors because nintendo and sony dont have them there because they think it will attract casual gamers to the plate. .

all those people who bought the xbox i feel your sorrow i had a similar argument with myself after buying a playstation 2

i swapped my dreamcast and got money of my ps2 got gta3
what a game but eventually i felt nostalga iam doing the same thing all the time killing people stealing cars and felt imature because it is only a video game and i so sense took my ps2 and 150 quid to a good pc retailer engineer friend of mine and got my pc a amd duron 700 384 mb ram geforce2 and got back to playing marios and felt like a saint it was a revelation god said put that dam piece of shit playstation 2 down and get a pc and emulate the great n64 and i did and here iam today with no looking back on that worthless playstation 2 and in 2 months i will be holding a little gift from the heavens the nintendo gamecube lol

Comments like those are unneccesary, Nemu is a great emulator and the last released version, 0.7a, still runs some games better then most emulators released after it...

also, not everyone here hates Xbox, its just that Xbox supporters usually comes in with a F**k GC!, F**k PS2, Xbox r0x!. That would obviously bring on the wrath of the others.

So...we (at least me) dont hate Xbox, we just hate certain types of Xbox supporters (the ignorant ones who are only capable of reciting specs).

Its good that we're having an intellectual discussion on consoles. But Ill be up front about it, Im gonna most definitely buy an XBox this summer. But what I hate is how people are trying to say "Xbox is Bill Gates's way of making more money" I think those childish remarks. Besides, Microsoft has always been in the gaming business ever since they started, its just they now want to extend to console gaming. Whats wrong with that? I mean they've made a next generation console here, and all you guys can do is try to insult Bill Gates about it. Even if money is Bill Gates's prime motivation (which i doubt [he is a frickin billionare]) he did a good job with it. You gotta give it credit, it has a hard drive, cd ripper, dvd player, and of course a wonderful console all in one. Who cares what the motive is, as long as you're getting your money's worth thats all that matters. The Gamecube isnt a bad console itself, but Ive been wanting an Xbox ever since its name was announced a few years ago.

yes, the xbox is technologically amazing and has some great games for it. However I'm only really excited about one launch title: halo, which is coming out for the pc with better graphics etc. As a matter of fact, I must say for all time classics, the PC is one of the best (deus ex, medal of honor etc) along with the n64 which I only truly appreciated through emulation

But despite all this, I do believe microsoft deserve some success, their publicity campaign has been amazing. I want nintendo to succeed but if they don't get some mainstream publicity soon, then they might as well give up now. No-one raises an eyelid when arthouse cinema fails to do as well as mainstream blockbusters, why should't it apply to the game industry?
