Will a new N64 emulator come into being?

But I mean, why does it take so much computer horsepower to emulate seemingly less sophisticated console hardware?

Hi guys: times

Only I began to pursue last week stably to work above Nitn64. Therefore I have updated seat of a site. I promised much and I am going to constrain the word. I solve a problem with savings of resources, I managed to disassemble a riddle why "Corn" is so fast in work. Very early in the work above Nitn64 I was keen to create the emulator n64 from 100 % compatibility. To me wrote messages, that 100 % compatibility to create not probably, but I pursued opposite opinion. Already for a long time I have written email Niki Waibel and it has answered me, it too as well as I wrote, that 100 % are possible for creating, it would make it and itself but he does not have on it time. I understand, that I am in actual time in the back and to get out of back to me it will be possible only after time. But I nevertheless pursue to work above Nitn64. I remember all testers, I have list of names.

Sorry translation...

next gen emu

As far as emulation for next gen emus, PS2 will likely not be as hard as some of the other new systems. We'll probably see something in the next year and a half that'll play the tittle screen for a game or two and a whole bunch of useless "demos". The development kits for that system are rather complicated, so it wont be as simple as the original PS when Bleem! was made - way back when. Basically, if you can run information from a PS2 disk or an X-Box disk on a computer (which you can, piracy already exists) you'll be able to emulate it eventually. Sometimes there are some mysteries that never get solved (like how long it took to figure out the SegaCD, and as far as I know that's still a mystery - but that's a whole OTHER rant).
What I'm figuring will be the most difficult to emulate will be the Gamecube... since the disks are multilayered (like how a DVD is dual-layered... only more) and are therefore impossible to read on our current computers. X-Box will be fairly easy, as aforementioned, since the games are developed among the same methods as PC games.
What it all boils down to is interest. If people want these emus badly enough someone will figure it out.

That sounds cool, VTT. Where do we sign up?

The sound and video create the big load on system, but it can be won. It is not necessary to copy the same code of times behind time and to give out it for new. I write a code which does not concern separately to video or a sound, I am concerned only with operation with memory, it should clean failures in speed of the emulator. But I shall give nevertheless to you a choice of a sound format.

Summer 2002 - the project "EMMA", I shall look for co-authors for the project. I already now try to work above it in part. It does not concern to PSX2.

A dead emu-author is a bad emu-author I think ;)

Hello. Going back to the Xbox, PS2 emu subject, what kind of hardware would it take to run an emulator for them? I mean, I have a dual Athlon 1700+ system with 512MB Crucial DDR memory, and Goldeneye still bogs it down. You would probably need a 4ghz or more CPU to run an Xbox emulator. Why does it take so much PC horse power to run an emulator? I am ignorant about the inner workings of them, so someone enlighten me.

Use 1964 and Goldeneye will run at full speed (along with Perfect Dark)

yes, x-box is a piece of shit.
My god, I hope Nintendo comes back with a vengence. I've lost so much interest in Videogames since Snes was around. N64 does have some of the best games of all time... but what ever happened to the industry?

Is the X-Box really that shitty?
I´m a Nintendo veteran since the NES (with the age of 6 :p ) so I always hope for Nintendo to get onto the conole-throne again...
But what I saw of the X-Box (only pics and videos) looked pretty good...well...the PS2 IS shitty...I only saw three games on it...at first I thought it was the Dreamcast...and another game looked like one from the PSone...anyway...

"...although i must admit i think gta3 on ps2 is amazing..."

- Of course...every system has its pearls...Final Fantasy 10 would be the only reason for me to buy the PS2 (although I cannot imagin it could reach the atmosphere of FF3, FF4, or FF6 ;) )
But on those systemss it´s only third party companys which bring out those pearls...
On Nintendo´s consoles Nintendo itself always brought out the pearls themself...so you can be sure there will always be great games for Nintendo-consoles...
In addition Nintendo got RARE under it´s skirt and now even Squaresoft again :D

And Nintendo, in my opinion did right not supporting DVD-Videos on the Gamecube...if I want to watch DVDs, I take a DVD-player and not that shitty, fu**ing expensive PS2
If I wanna play games, and that´s what the sense of a "console-life" should be, I take a machine by my beloved Nintendo :D - "leave luck to heaven"(that´s what nintendo means, right?) - and leave console-gaming to NINTENDO!!! :D
(wow...I should become a politician ;) ...only my english has to get much better :p)

3. You may say you don´t like the gamecube...anyway...
JUST DON´T INSULT US - WE DON´T REALLY LIKE THAT!!! And I think Martin doesn´t either...

lol, and this from a guy called 'blownbybubbles' ?

honestly, if u cant see through nintendo's cute exterior, u r prolly not a mature gamer. general rule is, when u feel like gore/violence (everyone needs some sometimes), look to ps2, when u feel like good gameplay, look to GC, when u feel like taking a crap, look to xbox.
