I've never had exp. with 1964, b/c pj64 was always the best, or so i was told, when i got into emu. I have heard that it will rock it out on netplay, just because of the fact that it is the best version of it with netplay. pj64 fails in that area (1.4 w/NP VS. 1.5 w/o)
It treats emulation like a competition, which was never the purpose. The PJ64 authors had their goals, and the authors of 1964 have theirs. No one is trying to be the best. What the hell does "better" or "best" mean anyway? What serves the purpose for one may not for another.Jimbot said:But don't you agree that it spraks *discussion*, which this and many other boards severely lack? That's the point I'm trying to make. NES and SNES emulation may serve the purpose for you, but they are far from "virtually perfect," particularly where the SNES is concerned. S-DD1 decompression was just recently figured out for instance, and many custom chips remain unemulated.Tirog said:However, currently NES and SNES emus are virtually perfect, and I can't be happier about that. 'Cause that means that my NES and SNES can stay in a box in the attic.
Many custom chips were used in one or two games only. Like the C4 chip. I only know that two games use it: megaman x2 and 3.Tirog said:hmm... I'm not saying you're wrong... however I havn't found any snes roms that don't run great on even my old version of zsnes.
