Neat idea but I don't care that much, would rather just go about my day and not notice and then one day I realize its december and i'm like 'wow the wii is out *scuttles off to buy one*' more fun that way I reckon.

I have a version myself, too, which I made experimently, but I put it on hold since there's really no need for it now.
Meh. Anyway, it's your decision, but I prefer a 'round-the-clock countdown. 53 days to go!

More importantly wheres the "PS3 is doomed" countdown, the countdown to its demise.

It launches 2 days before, right, on the 17th? I'll set the clock and upload it!
OK, it's just taking a little longer than expected because The C runtime library really have NO good time functions AT ALL.

Just get the date and time when PJ64 will be released and make yourself one coutndown thingy (using the link I wrote before), and paste it on your Myspace/Blog... whatever...

Hmm? Where's that?
I know of no sites to offer a pre-order for a reasonable price with no front up "pre-order fee."
Still, it's nice to know when it's released and when it will ship.

My pre-order is with Game, the largest vide-game retailer in the UK.

I made a beta of a PS3 countdown. The only way to quit it is to kill it via taskmanager and it is always on top of everything, but it's still beta.
If you want it / like it, I can improve it a little.

Date counting is a tricky buisness. Especially for months. Is Wii 1 or 2 months away? In my system, I counted the current month's days, so it actually shows 1 month and 19 days (subtracted 30 days from 49). Each one to their own in this, I guess. It's not easy to do and there is no standard way. Clock is set to november 17th 00:00 in YOUR local time.

Wii countdown if also available if you want it. It's set to 19th of november, 00:00 in YOUR local time.

Well, I have no interest in the Wii - I lost interest in Nintendo's stuff long ago, there are just never enough games I want to play for their consoles, that's all there is to it.

But hopefully the rest of you enjoy waving your arms in the air and all that other weird stuff that you'll have to do to play with your Wii Wii. ;)

Guess what smeg, nobody cares. Welcome to my ignore list.

kill it via taskmanager? Can't you just use the applications terminate function to kill it Doom? Shouldn't stay on anyway. Date counting isn't hard doom, use CTime, let me elabourate: CTime is extremely accurate as its the number of seconds since 1970 or something like that but anyway lots of things use it.

First grab Ctime, add on the number of seconds till midnight on top of it to even it out, lets say is 12:30 now i'd want to add 11 hours and 30 minutes.

Then add in seconds the amount of days till the Wii Launches' Now you've got a base ctime to work with, now all you do is compare the current ctime with your nice new base. DateToAchieve - CTime would give you the number in seconds to go, and therefore the amount of days, hours, seconds exactly. Ctime is extremely helpful for this type of thing.

Btw, a day is 86400 seconds, an hour is 3600 seconds, and i'm sure you already know a minute is 60 seconds. If you were to add 20 days to ctime, you'd add 86400 x 20. you get the idea i'm sure.

Check out more here. Unfortunatly since CTime is so widespead it's going to cause a problem similar to Y2k, dubbed Y2038. When that happens any program storing ctime in a small integer will break, neat huh? but it aint happing for another 30 years or so.
