new question post here from me

I got a new question why do all the video plugins like for n64 emulators and ps1 emulators only support Directx 6 and 7? don't they every plan too update the drivers too like Directx 8 or 9a in their video code plugins?like the plugin for project64 and 1964 , the good one only uses directx 6 I think?or does it not use directx 9a plugins will they ever update them too be based on directx 9a type hardware or whatever directx does anyway for the 3D card?

You asked this already in another thread, and I answered it already. Please don't double post, and I think this belong to General N64-emulation.

?????????????????????????
I guess I could answer your "why directx 6/7" question. It's because the authors began to use those and do not wish to upgrade and change to the new api. And to that, to fully utilize the upgraded api, they would have to re-write the code. And well...seemingly, it works without upgrading, so they don't bother.
Simple enough.
