where can i find a os that boot and run from acd?

most linux distributions have live-cds (these are those which you run off cds) - i.e. gentoo has one with americas army and another one with ut2k3 demo, SuSE and redhat also have some i think

any one know of version of liunx that can run in from ms dos 6 and up.i need an os small to download and run from cd, my isp connetion is way slow to down load a 600 + cd from the web.

? can xwin startup and run from a cd?

can i install xwin to cdr?

am will be runing from the os on a compaq 1700 laptop pc.it has 92mb of ram and a ati rage pro gfx card, and a floppy with cdrom.

Ummm few things.. your computer must support booting from a CD first of all. Secondly you can buy CD-ROMs or have the patience for a download. Thirdly you might have to make a custom setup. Really you need to provide some information of what you are intending to do.

i was going to use the my laptop 1700 to boot into dos for zsnes and that other vgba dos emu.and i was going to use a linux os like basiclinux to try and run adesktop os like xwin and gnome.

what i real want to do is use my laptop to run some n64 emus.in alunix os from cdr.

i think that redhat can run an64 emu.
