Where can I buy an arcade machine?!

Yeah. Where?!

I'm moving into a house with my mates in the next few weeks, and we all decided that we really want to buy an arcade machine (something like Outrun, I was thinking). So, anyone have any suggestions as to where the hell I start looking for a bargain?!

try ebay .. i have seen some cheap table top machines there .. plus it's a lot easier to clean the vomit off after a heavy drinking session .. you have to consider these things :p

or look around from your local arcade stores, depending on how new the game is and all, and how much money it rakes in, they sell 'em;)

http://www.channelbeat.com/ <---this one has some, but i think only specific arcard games, haven't really checked it out thoroughly;)

eh.. i do believe you can actually build a multi machine instead.. just get an arcade "box".. of your prefered choise of course.. check ebay or some of the sites above for those..

then get your serlf some really good arcade joysticks.. there's a whole bunch of diferent ones.. prebuilt or in pieces that you have to build yourself.. i bet you've seen the ones i mean.. check ebay if you haven't.. or those sites above too :p..

get yourself a nice puter with enugh power to run most games you would like to run.. and then you can get them special arcade tvs that do 80hz on ebay to i bet..

also you can get the cps2 machine and upload to it for the true arcade experiance ( http://cps2shock.retrogames.com/ )

or get a neo-geo.. they aren't worth much these days.. and i'm 100% sure there are linkers for them..

then with the pc you can just play the rest of the stuff with mame.. so you'll have great capcom and neo-geo games and also the ability to play anything else on PC..

(i've actually considered making one of these homearcades myself)..

Not really, they still sell Garou : Mark Of The Wolves for about 100$.

You can find various game PCB's on ebay for pretty cheap. Then buy a new monitor, and build a cabinet+controls.

I myself have a Street Fighter 2 Champion Edition PCB and a Mortal Kombat 2 PCB.

Oh, I wondered what did you actually mean by "linkers"... Heh, well, yeah, that might be a possibility, although the arcade Neo-Geo machine probably costs a lot of dough anyway.

less than a GC PS2 or xbox actually :p..

also i've heard the Xbox is on its way of becoming a full powered emulation device.. there's a few projects that are starting to mix together..

hmmm.. i can't really say anything.. it's like most projects.. nobody knows when they'll be ready.. this one is no big secret though.. i bet if you look around on xbox forums you'll find more info.. that's if you interested..

btw.. buy a GC instead.. metroid prime is comming ;)..
