Which Un-Zipping software is the more efficient, and easy to use? You decide!

Is it WinRAR... Or WinZip... Or Another piece of software? Vote in the poll and post your thoughts on this thread!

I use a WinZip/WinRAR combo. Together they are the best as far as I'm concerned.

Given that I have only used commercial Winzip, Winrar, and Powerarchiver, for price vs. features, I like PowerArchiver. There are other tools like bitzipper that are supposed to be good too. For free-only, IZArc, tugzip, ZipGenius, 7-zip are all decent. All above tools have quite the Windows bias ;)

Winzip is like WMP, ressource eater, annoying, slow and almost only accepts it's own format(s).
WinAce is even worse than Winzip but more formats...

Winrar ftw...

lol @ google ads :
" Ads by Google War Sucks | Service Sucks | WinZip EXE |Software Sucks | Selling Sucks "

and again on this page:
"Download Free Software
Download This Software For Free Never Pay For Software Again "

Google encourage piracy?? o_O

I don't care if it eats resources, because it's far the prettiest, easiest and best GUI to use. WinRAR doesn't even have a Checkout feature. Meh.
I use WinRAR only for RAR. I use 7-zip for 7z, and WinRAR for all other archives that WinZIP does not open (minus 7z of course).
Among all the software I know, WinZIP is the best.

to extract files I use universal extractor because it can extract close to anything thrown at it

to compress files I use 7zip as well as tugzip because tugzip supports a lot of formats ;)

I use WinRAR and 7zip:

WinRAR for decompression.
7zip for compression.

I have everything set to right-click cascaded context menus. I used WinZip and WinAce for a long time but found WinRAR did almost everything they did, but with a much smaller footprint. 7zip is really good at compressing files that share a lot of similar data.

i use winrar only. winzip doesn't support enough file types and for some reason 7-zip never tickled my fancy and i only downloaded it to open a file my friend sent me that was 7z.

You mean its shareware ;) And friends told me you can still use it after the 40 day trial but I am not sure about it

but unlike Winzip, you don't get the annoying screen when you use the right click options (quick compress and extract) . It only shows up when you open the main winrar window itself.
