Ok, I have read your rules and they dont tell me anything.

So now Im going to ask you...

What is a Rom?

All I know is that people ask for them and they seem required to play certain games...Is there a way to purchase them. (Note to you ban loving admins, I dont want any info on where to get roms unless they can be purchased, legally. I dont like to rip software. But I dont know anything about this stuff Im asking about)

What is a HD image? How does it work? What does it do?

Is there a way I can legally purchase these? Once again read the note up in the paragraph above.

From what I hear about KIG is that at one point roms and HD images were avail to download...Now I hear they dissappeared. I dont know who makes them, I dont know anything about them. Which I would like to change. In the u64emu2 program I downloaded, I need these. It says, if you do not OWN them then it wont work. Now if someone were to say that, then its obvious there is a place to LEGALLY BUY these things.

Its obvious your all either highly I hate people who rip software. Or you just dont like answering questions and ban people for it.

So...Im gonna do this just for you all.

I DONT WANT ANY INFORMATION REGARDING STOLEN/FREE/ANYTHING THAT I AM NOT PAYING THE DEVELOPER FOR...I DO NOT CARE FOR YOUR INFORMATION REGARDING ANYTHING IN THE SENTANCE ABOVE. I JUST WANT TO MAINLY KNOW WHAT A ROM IS, WHAT A HD IMAGE IS, AND WHERE TO ((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((BUY THEM FROM A DEVELOPER IF POSSIBLE)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

On a further note, If it wont be possible to get KIG on my computer, just tell me. My computer is running a 9700 at radeon. So. I wasnt sure where to post this either. I can always go buy another n64 and KIG its not a problem, id just rather have it on my computer. Thanks for your help.

First of all, cut out the attitude.

A rom is the image of a piece of code, in this instance N64 cartridges that get ripped are called 'roms'. These are illegal, we don't want anything to do with people who request them on public boards.

This is not a morality debate.

The HD Image is like the rom image, but instead of being ripped from a cartridge it was ripped from the HD of a Killer Instinct machine.

As for the last question, yes it's possible, but no we won't tell you how to do it.

ROM = The data stored on a cartridge such as a N64 cartridge.
HD Image = Hard drive Image. IIRC, the arcade versions of Killer Instinct and KI2 used HD images.

You cannot buy them as far as I'm aware legally. You can dump games you already own with a cart dumper, but discussion of these is not allowed since it isn't legal in all countries. Only people who ask where to find/download ROMs are banned for your information.

Yes I thought the same, thanks for the information and I apologize for my overly sarcastic behavior :)

Just Another Wacko ;)
Well, a ROM is an image of the software (usually a game) which is inside a catridge but it is stored in an other media (a hard disk, a CD etc). The data is usually excactly the same between the actual catridge and the image (it usually depends on the way the rom was dumped). There are several ways to dump a ROM, the most common way is to use a piece of hardware able to receive specific catridges (ex: N64 or Genesis or GBA) and then copy the data from the catridge to PC. If you want to dump an Arcade ROM the procedure is much harder and the needed hardware is usually more expensive.
A HD image is an image of a hard disk (like the one on your PC) but it usually has a different file system which is normally accesible only by the system that uses this HD and not by other systems.
The only legal way to use these Roms is to buy the real catridge or arcade machine and dump them by yourself.
