What is dynarec?

Hi everyone. I am new to the forums and gc emu so therefore I am a newbie in every sense of the word. I am trying to play The Legend of Zelda, Four Swords Adventure but I keep getting 0.00 fps and a black screen. I read the comments in games.ini and it said to try using dynarec. Reading through the forum I see that a lot of posters refer to dynarec but I could not find anyone who posted instructions on how to obtain and install it. I apologize if this is posted elsewhere, I have been looking for about 45 minutes now. Thanks.aperbag:

Dynarec is already built into dolphin, just go into the menu called "Emulation" and choose it to put a check mark next to it. By the way, dynarec is simply a dynamic recompiler, which can tend to help bring up speed in some games.

The alternative is using an interpreter, which is generally more accurate, but also much slower. BTW, welcome to Emutalk. arty:

It worked! I got past the start screen and I began playing the game. Although when I get past the first movie scene my fps shoots up from 9fps to about 14fps and all I see is a green screen. Could the .gcm be corrupt or am I jumping the gun here? Also, I cant seem to get any audio? Thanks for all your help thus far.

Nah, the game's probably fine, it's the emulator that's not quite right at the moment. Many games get the "green screen" effect. Only thing that can be suggested is to wait for a newer version.

Next version will probably fix some graphics problems, maybe it will run better, but not much i think.
