Well considering 3dfX has been dead 2.25 years there isn't much too say. In the semiconductor world 3dfx systems are 6 generations behind Nvidia's that's pretty much that,

I think 3dfx died because they became a real joke after a while. Imagine this, the voodoo 6 was supposed to be such a "powerful" card, that it would require an external power source because the standard AGP slot couldn't possibly give this card enough "power" to do its speed justice Now ati and nvidia make cards a hell of a lot better than that card would have ever been, and they don't seem to be lacking any "power" to me. Marketing techniques these days, what will they come up with next?

AlphaWolf: the Voodoo5 6000 needed external power because it had FOUR .25-micron chips.

For reference, the ATi R300 needs a Floppy power connector, and GeForce FX requires a Molex connector just like Voodoo5 5500.
