Using build 5472 myself (and this is pretty good), this build IS EVEN BETTER.
Hurry! It won't be long. Later, if no bugs are found (at least not serious ones), RC1 will be available.

I was testing 5472 for a while and it was a massive improvement over previous builds, I've been using 5536 for the past few days and I'm loving it, runs great!

I never said anything about downloading an illegal copy, would never dream of doing that. I will test this build later today... yessss... Legal disclaimer: For all intents and purposes, I aquired this legally through Dooms link before it borked, that is all. Don't download illegal software at home kids.

I'm just pointing out that it can be aquired LEGALLY with Microsoft's permission here. Download through bittorrent or anywhere else and you are, technically, aquiring it illegally.
So anyway, it is your chance to aquire it in a legal way. And I'm sure some of you want to do it the legal way and no the illegal way. As clements says, it *is* available on bittorent sites. But this is a completely legal way to get it.
I would prefer to get it legally myself, which I am doing and giving you the oppertunity to do so, as well.

If the bittorrent version is identical to the one Microsoft released on their website then I fail to see what the problem is. If They released it to the Public, the public will spread it, its as simple as that. How are you giving me an oppertunaty when its not there anymore? Fact of the matter is that bittorrent saves on bandwidth for Microsoft so they won't even be bothered no doubt.

Theres a difference between grabbing that and grabbing Windows XP (for example) because Microsoft never released a full version of that to the public through internet download so Microsoft are within their rights on moral and legal ground to stop anyone on those terms.

On the terms of distrubuting something they gave to the public freely, It is a bit ludicrious to try to stop people doing that... If RC1 is following on straight after that then there isn't a problem because people can get it from Microsoft anyway for free.

Microsoft: How dare you spread something we let the public have for free... rawr we will get revenge!

Besides the builds are cripplewear, they ware out within a year or less so we'll still end of having to pay for Vista when it comes out. It's a win-win situation for Microsoft because they get more testers and they get more interest.

This situation is comparable to being told a juicy bit of information about someone like say Bill Gates and then someone saying its illegal for you to tell anyone else about it.

I agree with you there. Microsoft won't even try bittorrent. They sent cease and desist letters to one site who distributed the public beta 2 via bittorrent (which they downloaded from Microsoft's site).

But you can use Vista for a while, right? You'll be happy for a while. Vista is really a great OS. While not many may realize it, it is nice. Not worth the money to buy a new license, for sure, but still much better than XP.

Yeah, yeah. They fixed some bugs in 5572. It's looking really nice right now. Still, Microsoft needs to work on that UAC API.

I'm using Vista Pre-RC1 right now, must say this is definitely an improvement over the previous builds - it installed it much faster, it boots much faster, it seems to run faster as well. I'm looking forward to the final build, more testing to be done but i've got everything I need running so yeah I may use it for a little while as my primary OS.

Edit: Hitman Blood Money running on Vista, It runs perfectly. In fact If I didn't know any better i'd say it runs better on Vista than it does on XP! I love Vista's version of mspaint too. My vista beta 2 key microsoft gave me worked perfectly also so yay, i'm legal as far as i'm concerned hehe.

So far as I see, the Beta 2 key works on all Vista builds (tested on 5472 [previous build] and 5536 [newest build]).
