It's the least he deserves

hmm you are for death penalty ? why ? it's not because there is death penalty that there is less crime ... So what's the aim of the death penalty ? Being as barbarian as the criminals ? What is the difference between the criminals and honest citizens if we act as criminals, i mean killing people ?

Oh joy another bleeding heart liberal who uses 27 question marks per second. I am in fact against the death penalty for the most part, but when somebody commits treason against their country they deserve to hang.

When the crime is barbaric enough, I see no reason why the punishment shouldn't be just as barbaric. Example : Timothy Mcveigh, the fucker deserved the injection.

People like that guy disgust me, I think he should get life in prison, not death penalty, so he has time to think about what he did for the rest of his life. He would make a great example as well.

Yeah I agree but come on, treason used to be punishable by death but now we can just jail them indefinately. Although it may be dispicable, treason cant be classified as barbaric.

Treason is one of the most disgusting crimes there is, the man went behind his fellow soldiers and tried to give military information to the enemy. At least I can sleep well knowing he will get the shit kicked out of him when he goes to a military jail.

disgusting, dispicable, underhanded, and downright wrong. Yes, it is. But barbaric crimes (better known as violent crimes), there has to be some sort of crime against another individual directly. Murder, manslaughter, battery, and arson ... these are violent crimes. Better defined as crimes with the intent to cause damage. Rape is a disputed crime, it doesnt fit the definition because its intent is for a sick twisted pleasure, but not intent to cause damage. Treason is comitting a crime against the interests of a nation, not against a person and not with an intent to cause damage. Its as much barbaric as theft, larsony or embezzelment. Its a non-violent crime.

If I was president, he would have been shot by now. A proper military
shouldn't put up with that sort of thing. Bring it before the president,
show the evidence, and if it's obviously true, just shoot him. Simple as
that for a soldier. You would think dishonor of committing treason would
be enough, but sometimes you just gotta shoot them.

If he were a civillian (2 L's?) spying, I might be more lenient, but then
again, spy's caught out of uniform (of the enemy) are traditionally killed...

EDIT: well... actually, if I were president, I'd shoot his commanding officer
too, for not shooting the guy in the first place.. maybe...

Actually I was thinking, I should say generally treason is not committed with the intent to cause damage. Its most likely over money, however in the terrorist world it could be intended to cause damage. Thats for a jury to decide.

If he gave information to the enemy regarding undercover operatives, he jepardized their lives, and potentially the lives of many others. There should be no sympathy for such a person, hang him.
