Okay I have a brand new computer with a sweet heavenly graphics card..... But I am stuck in Ocarina of time when I learn the song for spirit temple. Windows gives me an error message concerning Opcodes. I have a valid ROM too. I really really need help. I would be sooo happy if somebody would give me something more than websites. I've looked through an unlimited amount of threads. So would some technical genius please help me! I would be soooooo happy.

Okay I looked at one of your old posts and found one that said change memory and cache or protect memory, and protect memory got me through. However, I try to put the sword back in to become young link and I get yet another opcode error. My roms are in fact valid. I've been directed to that site a few times but it hasn't provided me any good help so far. I'm not running off save states either. Is it possible that my graphics aren't as good as a believe? My graphics card is by ATI. I also got a new plugin (weather or not its superior than default i have no idea) its rices 6.0 or something like that. This isn't the first time opcodes have haunted me. Do you have any other recommended links? I appreciate your response!

there's only one place in OoT known to consistently fail on default settings (Lost Woods, see gamefaq).
something seems to be wrong on your setup, have you actually verified the ROM with GoodN64? have you tried with a clean install of PJ64 and default settings?
this is not a graphics card issue, in any way i can see.

edit: are you using any cheat codes?!

Thanks for replying my post!

My rom was downloaded from 'somewhere that the mod has now deleted'. Their ROMs are all from the good
n64 list so I'm pretty certain that my ROMs ar valid. However I don't know what you mean by a "clean" install of pj64? My download of pj64 is from the pj64 site itself if thats what you're refering to. My computer is also compatible as far as I know.

Thanks!

Consider yourself lucky that I got out of the right side of the bed today, no rom links or names of rom sites. Thanks :)

Give me back my floppy face!
1. Don't mention ROM sites. At least it wasn't a ROM link, though.
2. The rom site you mentioned (I won't repeat it) has downloads that incorporate all versions of the rom, including the bad ones. Use whichever rom that has a [!] in it - if you can't see it, use the "Open Rom" option on the File menu to play your games so you can see the symbol.
3. A clean install simply means to reinstall... basically, it's like a PJ64 with all the default settings.
4. Just look around the site; plenty of help available that may or may not solve your problems. Also, post your specs just in case...

That error message isn't from Windows. It's from Project64, because it isn't happy with something in the ROM. This probably is caused by the following:

1. A Project64 bug.

2. A bad ROM.

3. Unstable processor overclocking. You processor can't handle the clock speed that you set it at or you're required to increase the Vcore setting.
But for people here, this is a less common cause.

Please get GoodN64 and scan the ROM with that. If the name of the ROM contains "", it's definitely bad.
