You forgot a poll entry so I didn't vote. But I would have voted for "I know who they are, but I just don't give a flying fuck about a sport where two men pummel each other to death."
Actually, there are less serious/fatal injuries in box, than in soccer or basketball.

Even if you showed me proof, I still doubt I'd believe that. :p

it's not true. while getting kicked in the shin hurts like a mother there is nothing like a blow to the head. maybe your talking about soccer FANS not players being lethal. And NOTHING in basketball that's legal can compare to the blows taken in boxing. NOTHING. and football (american) players wear helmets at least when they play.

It's true, there are less fatalities or loss of bodily function per capita in boxing than a few sports like football and hockey. If you ask me, I think the blows to the head aren't realy that bad with the gloves and all, and these boxers are generaly more fitted for it. (otherwise they wouldn't last long enough to actualy make it anywhere in the sport) Nobody is born physicaly equal!

Who cares how many injuries there are, I just don't like sports where the whole purpose is to beat the guy till he is unconcious.

thats not the whole purpose u daft bugger, the whole purpose is to win, and you can win on points... ie a SPORT, but if the other boxer is not fit to continue the bout is stopped in his best interests... how barbaric :plain:

Well, on that same note who likes sports where the whole purpose is to have a bunch of people throw or hit a ball and then run after it over and over again? Its all about the smaller enjoyments of this primitive little thing we call life. :)

But, you know my attitude, I say if two people want to fight for the purpose of sport, by all means let em have it out. The loser should have known better.
