Turok Problem

I have a big problem with the turok series, It starts fine, I get to the menus all right, but when I got to start game, it goes to a
black screen, and won't go past that, plz help

For some unknown reason, some people have this problem with this game. If the counter factor is set to 1, change it to 2. That should get the game started, but it will introduce new problems, like a crash at level 4.
