I was just wondering, what would happen if someone was pirating crap off the internet in some weird country like China, where the government doesnt care?

Chances of getting caught are minimal anyway on file sharing, you know what they say - safety in numbers.

And probably about 80% of the people who actually do get 'caught' just ignore the problem with no adverse consequences. To date, the RIAA has filed over 15,000 lawsuits against alleged file sharers and only two or three thousand or so have actually settled. For trivia's sake, one of the people they sued ended up being an old dead woman who had never even owned a computer.
