top gear overdrive

the game "top gear overdrive" will not proceed past the intro, it just seems to hang there. ive tried all of the combinations of video and input plug-ins i could think of. a little help maybe?

"80046dfc: exception in the emulation thread". i used 1964 and i got to the main screen that asks for the race type, then that error pops up
