  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

TNAvsROH No Mercy Mod ALMOST works, but not quite.

I apologize if this isn't the right place for this or if I'm breaking any rules, but I don't think I am. Anyway...

I'm trying to get the TNA vs. ROH No Mercy Mod to work on PJ64. I followed the instructions to a T, put all the required files and textures in the right places. When I go into the game, EVERYTHING works. Except the wrestlers. Their portraits are TNA/ROH guys and their moves are different, but their names are still WWE guys and they still look like the WWE guys. I've done a lot of poking around, but can't seem to do anything to fix this. Anybody have any idea what I'm missing? Thanks.

EDIT: Okay, I found a few threads where people are having the same problem, but no one seems to have an answer...

You have to use a plugin that supports custom textures, like rice´s or glide i guess, search for downloads here on the board.

I am using the Rice plugin.

This is so frustrating, because everything works perfectly except for the wrestlers. Their portraits and moves are TNA/ROH guys, but their names and looks are still the same. I think from what I've read that some of the portraits are on the wrong wrestlers, but...

Could this be from being on Vista or what? I can't imagine what the problem is.

No, it´s not vista. Why do ppl blame it if stuff happens? lol
Have you checked the "load hi-res textures if available" option in texture enhancement? Couz otherwise it would be kinda pointless to use it, since the textures wouldn´t be loaded like in your case.

Dump the character textures yourself and see if the file names are the same. If they are different...change them to the names that were dumped for you. I here this complaint a lot so you may be the one to fix it. ;)

Do you know how to retexture?

Yes, "load hi res textures" is ticked.

gitech, I only have a vague idea of what you're talking about, any chance I could get a little more instruction?

EDIT: I should note that the move cheats aren't working and AKI man has the new textures he's supposed to have.

I found some instructions on texture dumping, but I'm apparently doing something wrong, because it's not working.

7. Start your WWF No Mercy rom and find the texture you wish to edit. When you do, go to Options --> Configure Graphics Plugin --> Texture Filters, and check the "Dump textures to files" box.

8. Go back to the game and re-select the texture you wish to edit.

How do you select a texture in the game? It's not like you can click on it or something... Just being on the screen with the texture and dumping makes no files appear in the texture_dump folder.

Re-post of another time I helped this guy, let me know if this helps you:

Um, apologies if this is a stupid question,

I've downloaded the rice plugin and put in my project64's plugin folder. PJ64 loads the plugin fine for me, but I don't have any texture dumps. I see a folder named "Hi Res Textures" in my plugins folder but the folder itself is empty. Any advice?

Thanks in advance.

The "hires_texture" folder is where you would put a "hires texture pack" that you can download from various threads here in our "Hight resolution texture projects" forum.

Or, it is where you would place "your" hi-res textures if you made some from your own texture dump of a game.

To do your own hires textures you would first check "dump textures to files" in the video plugin and play through the game that you want to dump and retexture. A new folder will automatically be created in your "plugin" folder called "texture_dump". In that folder another new folder will automatically be created for the game you "dumped" textures from with the "correct name" for the game. By "correct name" I mean it is the name that the plugin created for the folder and is the name that the plugin recognizes for that game(it's also the ROM's internal name as it appears in the top of PJ64 when the game is running). This means that when/if you make a hires texture of your own you will need to place it in (save it to) a folder of the same (exact) name that YOU create within in the "hires_texture" folder. That way the plugin goes to the "hires_texture" folder to look for the games textures instead of the ROM.

Tip: play through one "area", "level" or "room" at a time and take (copy) the textures that dump for that "area" AFTER you have fully explored it and just BEFORE you leave the "area" to go to the next, such as defeat a boss or go through a door. Create a new folder in your (plugin/hires_texture/"game name") folder with the name of the "level" or "area" you just copied the dumps for. Paste the textures that you copied from the dump folder for that area into it your new (plugin/hires_texture/"game name"/"area name") folder you just created.

For example your folder directory would look like this: ...Desktop\Emulators\N64\N64 Emulators\project64 1.6\Plugin\hires_texture\CASTLEVANIA2\CHARACTERS\FRIENDLIES\CARRIE FERNANDEZ\CARRIE 2ND COSTUME\2ND POISON

*All of the folders in capital letters were created by me/would be created by you. This example is of a folder directory that is pretty advanced but I put it here to show you what kind of folder creation/organization you should use to make sorting through all the textures you create easier when you are faced with thousands of textures to keep track of.

Once you have all of the textures for an area in the folder you created above you can open the texture you want to change (make "hi-res") in an editing program like Photoshop, do what ever you want to it, and save it. It should save right over the old "lo-res" texture, and now you have a hi-res texture that will replace the old one while playing the game.

For reference you can download this hi-res texture pack and learn more about retexturing from my experiences here: Castlevania LOD Hi-res Texture Pack WIP

I turn on the Dump Textures option and go through the game some, but no files are created in the texture_dump folder.

Just tried it. No character textures were dumped at first, then I turned 'on' "TMEM Emulation" under the "current game options" tab. Then they dumped.

So, try turning in TMEM Emulation and there is a good chance your characters should update to the hires ones (without having to dump and 'retexture' yourself). Let me know if that works.

"TMEM Emulation" under the "current game options" tab, OR "Full TMEM Emulation" under the "texture enhancement" tab?

Also, make sure it's marked with a 'check mark' and not just a green square.

The one under current game options. It was just a square, but I changed it to a check and still nothing. Should the one under texture filters be on, too?

Ah, you are not using Mudlord's Rice Video 6.1.4. Try that one.

In 6.1.4 the 'texture filters' tab is called 'texture enhancements'. Do not 'check' the 'Full TMEM emulation' option here.

Try all that and let me know.

Tried all. Still nada.

Whenever I restart the game, the TMEM option reverts back to the square instead of a checkmark. When I switch it to a checkmark, nothing happens, and then it doesn't stay that way when I restart.

Anyone else think he needs to uninstall all traces PJ64 and all plugins and start fresh?

I've done this multiple times. At least I think I uninstalled ALL traces off it. Yeah, pretty sure. Oh well, it's too late for me. Save yourselves.

(I'm going to try this on my other computer with XP tomorrow. This computer has been giving me fits in other areas, too.)

Sorry for the double post/bump, but I wanted whoever is interested (such as gitech) to know that everything works fine when I run it on my desktop comp with XP. But that's not the one I want to play it on!

UPDATE: I moved the Project64 folder out of C:/ onto the desktop and it worked, though the moves still seem to not be working.
