If you like Progressive House maybe you'll like John Digweed, Satoshi Tomiie or Anthony Pappa.

Also, what kind of trance do you like? Is it the Floofy Melodic Vocal Trance, Hard Trance, or the Sasha-style mature sexy Progressive Trance? I recognize your avatar from the Gatecrasher CDs, but I was never overly fond of them.

I'm a big progressive fan, and also like some Psytrance (Hence my current handle, Shpongle aka Hallucinogen).

I couldn't agree more, in fact, I'd go further, anyone who likes techno/trance is banned as soon as I get around to reading the rest of this thread(the odds of that are pretty low though:p)

Yeah John Digweed isn't a bad producer, havent heard much about the others though

I like a lot of type of trance, mainly uplifting stuff like Rank 1 productions and most of ferry corstens stuff. Hard trance isn't too bad, some of my fave producers being BK and Digital pressure. I'm starting to get into progressive a bit more recently, i wasn't that keen at 1st, but stuff like tilt and probspots productions have really got me into it. As for vocal trance, its not too bad, i have quite a mixed opinion about it really, quite a few tracks are eurotrance based like DJ Sammy etc which gets on my nerves. But on the other hand, there are some really good vocal based trance prodctions out there, especially jan johnston stuff.

I have heard a little psytrance and i'm not keen on that though, but not everybody has the same taste

ha, i wonder what your preference is ;)

i myself love vocal trance, and hard trance second. i still haven't figured out what is classified as progressive... =P. euro can get on your nerves but i can stand it... mostly.

other than that, new rock/alternative. my playlist is all a mix of trance and rock. it rocks.

I was thinking the same thing, people only slag it off either because they confuse it with techno or havent heard it. Well I aint afraid to admit I like it, i don't give a flying fuck what people think

zAlbee, If you want to distinguish progressive trance, its usually around 130bpm and is very mellow, i'd advise you to check out Tilt - The world doesn't know or Probspot - Foreplay, very very nice songs. Eurotrance is alright, but is a little cheesy for my liking, too much like dance.

I do know what trance is... ffs So don't piss me off. Same goes to zAlbee. Different strokes for different folks - I'm of the opinion that the whole Trance/Techno/Underground/Drum N Bass genres are pretty much universally shit. MY OPINION geddit.

Edit: There may be exceptions.

Music?

It's alright. Most people that like Electronic Dance Music (EDM) are already quite aware that a majority of the world's population thinks it is crap. In-fact, I can personally vouch that I believe 3/4 of EDM is garbage, which leaves the last 1/4 with a very bad reputation. "If it makes you happy, it can't be that bad!" ~Sheryl Crow, lol.

To zAlbee: To answer your question, I like Hard Trance and Progressive Trance the most... Then I'd say Epic Trance is really nice and uplifting, with Vocal Trance definitely being the last on the list. Not that there is anything wrong with it, but sometimes vocals influence my imagination to visualize that which is being said. Like a book that has pictures. I do enjoy a lot of vocal tracks though, like "Chris Raven / I Know You Love Me Too," and for an even more commerialized tip "The Crystal Method / Trip Like I Do."

I got some simplistic Hard Trance links that you might enjoy. It's definitely not "instantly gratifying" like most music you'd find on the market today, which is what EDM is all about --> residual gratification, for lack of a better term.

To Stezo2k: You like BK? So, you must be into the Hard Dance | Hard-NRG scene! BK is really awesome, I'm assuming you've also then heard of Chris C, OD404, or Kristian?

On a non-EDM note, I also like Tool, Nine Inch Nails, Sublime, Jewel, Nirvana, and Beastie Boys.

:alien2: Everyone likes different types of music, and that is what makes the world a wonderful place... diversity. :icecream:

Yep, but there is no need to slag peoples tastes off, i was only messing about at first

I was just saying that most people often confuse trance with techno and maybe dance and have bad feelings about the genre, i was the same myself until i heard some eurotrance stuff which got me into the genre

heck, your entitled to your opinion, i wasn't trying to piss you off though mate, i was just expressing my opinion

Yeah BK is a pretty good hard house/dance/trance producer, love some of his earlier work, especially his remix of DT8's destination and his Mauro picotto remixes. But i havent heard of Chris C, OD404, and Kristian, i'm not into the hard scene as much as I once was.

Yep, I also like other music which varies quite a bit, I don't mind a bit of rock, R&B i'm starting to enjoy a bit more and some pop aint that bad, but trance will always be my favourite genre because it gives me goosebumps
