Damn nice FPS! o_O I only get like 14 infront of tree house when playing Zelda Twilight... 3Ghz Cpu? Tell meh, pl-0x! lol.

Bah, i really hope they will improve the OGL or create an other one for ati users or tweak the D3d plugin ;x

I'm using an E6600 running at 3.4Ghz but even with this one the game is still too slow, i gets around 20fps when entering the village, and there's some glitches, with both plugins. And dualcore won't work with OGL plugin :(

But the OGL plugin is still better, and faster but lacks some features like antialiasing or 'fully working' res change (gives graphics glitches) =]

Edit: OGL res change glitches are fixed with the latest builds.

Actually, it's not that much, it's more like 10 to 20%

btw, it's still better to use a x64 OS, but you might have troubles with some drivers...

P.S: i'm using the same settings for both x64 and x86, with OGL plugin @ 640x480 - dualcore on, for WW - off, for TP

Thanks that made my decision.

Sticking with 32 bit. 4-7fps isnt worth changing an os over.

Thanks for that :)

I hope I'm not too late... I noticed that your RAM is at 4096MB with 256MB of vRAM as well. With 32-bit, only 4096MB of COMBINED memory (system RAM + vRAM) will be recognized. I HIGHLY recommend using 64bit just because of your RAM amount. If you went with 32bit, you also won't be able to add more RAM in the future.

Switching to Vista 64bit doesn't add much FPS. Anyone compared Windows to Linux, which is faster?

Well dell messed me about, delaying my order by 4 weeks so i cancelled it and got this laptop from work instead. It's an Acer Gemstone 5930G.

Here are the specs :

Intel Core 2 P7350 @ 2ghz.
3GB DDR2 Ram.
512mb Nvidia GeForce 9600m GT DDR3 Card.
250gb Harddrive @ 7200 rpm.
15.4" Screen.

I am happy with the FPS i get in dolphin :)

The only problem I have with Vista at the moment is old driver problems. So if you have any old devices that you still use (for example, my Wi-Fi stick), there may not be a Vista driver.
The performance issues are only noticeable on a crap computer now, and most bugs have been ironed out.
So, it's all about preference over the UI now, and how much you give a damn about DirectX 10.
Worthy of note is that I have both XP and Vista and haven't used DirectX 10 more than once. And that was to see how much Crysis would kill my PC in DirectX 10.
