Stupid question about PJ64 1.5

People, i know, this question is old. But everyone is asking why PJ64 1.5 doesn't work ((failed to allocate memory)), and they get always the same answer. Try to get more memory or something.

This is so weird, cause i really don't know how to do that. I can stop programs when i use the "CTRL+ALT+DEL" but that doesn't seem to have effect.

How can i get more memory (i have 256 MB RAM) 63345 MB in use. Pleas tell m, so i can play with PJ64... Thanks for you're time.. :flowers:

ATI RADEON 9000 Pro
2,53 GHZ
256 MB Ram
WIndows XP

Have you tried using PJ64 SP1 which is available from the download section. Service Pack 1 should hopefully alleviate these problems.

FUD, the SP was never meant to address this. since the pj64 team have never seen this error, it's hard to do anything about it anyway.

So there's nothing to do about it? :'( That sux pretty hard, because now i can't play my favourite Banjo Tooie... Is no one working on a plugin to help all these users who can't use 1.5?

eh what.. are you saying you don't get this error if you don't have jabo's video plugin selected on startup?

I get this message:

"Failed to allecate memory"

When I double click o PJ1.5 I get this message. So my question was how I can play PJ64 1.5. You're smiff Clara right? So you are the plugin master :D

I had the problem on my old computer, and I solved it by freeing up RAM and increasing my Pagefile size. It enabled me to play Zelda with 56MB RAM (with XP as well)

All right then. Here's the deal ... I only want the N64 Emu cause my N64 controllers are dead ... and I'm too fscking lazy to go get new ones. But I want to play N64 ... I've tried a few Emulators and can't get them to work properly ... when I talk to any of my friends they reccommend PJ64. I can't seem to get away from this damned "Failed to Allocate Memory" error. I've tried freeing up ram ... even tried that FreeRAM XP Pro the FAQ reccommended ... I've got 270MB Physical Ram free. My swap file has been a permanent 756MB since my Windows install. I've tried everything!! ePSXe works great!! I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY I GET THIS DAMNED ERROR!!!!!

try 1964 and see if you get that error with that emu also.I remember seeing that error a while back sometimes when i used pj64 but it hasn't hapened at all since 1 year ago, pretty weird since you have much more ram than me,i only got 32megs of ram.

WOW!! 1964 works great!! I'll still need to tweak the sound plugins (It's doing some funky stuff) and the video (It's offset by the taskbar in fullscreen mode for some reason) but in windowed mode it's looking great!! Plus no more GAY FSKING ERROR MESSAGES I CAN'T GET RID OF!! No offense to the PJ64 team but you guys really need to figure out why it's doing this. This is a really big bug and with so many people having it and no global solution you should really re-examine your memory usage at emulator startup. Thanks again and if you get this problem fixed you can be assured I will try PJ64 again.
