FiRES isn't lazy. He's busy...Alex The Great said:This is against the rules. Anyway, because of the high amount of warez kids asking for a Gamecube emulator (emulators are made for illegal purposes anyway), Fires won't be making a new version of Dolphin. And even if he does, there is no way he will improve speed. He doesn't like to code the virtual core. NOTE: Yes, he's lazy, but who isn't? I'm also lazy. So, why he will code an emulator if he can just play videogames or rest?
And even if he does, there is no way he will improve speed.

Don't insult me again, please. I'm not an idiot. And Fires had four years to make Dolphin faster, enough time IMO.You're not lazy. You're an idiot...
So I guess you're not leaving?Alex The Great said:Don't insult me again, please. I'm not an idiot. And Fires had four years to make Dolphin faster, enough time IMO.

Everyone else has already stated what I would. F|RES is doing a great job on developing the emulator, and he's given far more than enough of his own time to the project.![]()
I was going to leave, but ya called me an idiot. So I guess you're not leaving?
Sorry, but was I would I think if Fires didn't even post he couldn't update his emulator for x reason? I think he was going to do what all succesful developers did: updates every week, open sources and the sort. And he dissapointed me.Your comments were not stemmed from high intellect, they were from ignorance.
I don't trust warnings from regular members. But I was going to leave anyways. I hope Fires reads this and talked to us more often...I sware he says one more thing about f1res being lazy he is going to be ban. let that be a warning to you alex.
Perhaps the updates and fixes are not significant enough to issue out a new release, or even an update. Not to mention that the Dolphin team is fairly secretive on the new developments, which usually end up being a blast when they're released.Alex The Great said:Sorry, but was I would I think if Fires didn't even post he couldn't update his emulator for x reason? He's a Dolphin beta-tester, so the usergroup doesn't really matter too much.Alex The Great said:I don't trust warnings from regular members. But I was going to leave anyways. I hope Fires reads this and talked to us more often...

First... do you pay for him to make the emulator? If you don't, you don't have the rights to ask for updates, open sources, or whatever. He does that with his free time, without money.Alex The Great said:Sorry, but was I would I think if Fires didn't even post he couldn't update his emulator for x reason? Said it all.Clements said:That's because F|res is a busy man and can't work on Dolphin all the time, so basically there is not much to report, so weekly updates is pushing it. It's not that difficult to understand. Everybody has a job or university that consumes most of the week, and often free time is limited. F|res may not want to use his time to work on Dolphin, he may want to do something else. He has no obligation to work on Dolphin whatsoever, and he has even been kind enough to release binaries for us to use - which obviously you don't even appreciate.
Opening the source is completely the author's choice. Open source wouldn't bring in many more developers anyway, since the level of knowledge you need of the GC's hardware to even understand the code is extremely high. No one has made offshoots of Dolwin or Gcube. Even ZSNES receives little outside coders submitting patches for the main emulation cores - since no hardly anyone understands the code except for perhaps pagefault.
Ungrateful freeloaders like you really get my goat.
