Star Trek: Bridge Commander

I've been playing around with this for a while. I just finished it, has anybody else played it. Its much better than most ST games there are out, and is just as fun as the other ST hit Elite Force. It puts you in the Star Trek world commanding your own ship. It has a Multiplayer aspect, but it isn't too hot. Most people online are hoping they fix it with an expansion pack (like Activison so loves to do). Check it out sometime, you don't have to be a Trekkie to like this one.

In multiplayer and single player quick battle, you can be a Federation Akira, Ambassador, Galaxy, Sovereign or Shuttle OR a Klingon Bird of Prey or Vorcha OR a Romulan Warbird OR a Cardassian Galor or Keldon OR a Ferengi Marauder, as well as two new ships from a new race called the Kessok, and a Cardassian-Kessok Hybrid ship. In single player mode, you get to be a Galaxy Class ship called the USS Dauntless and the prototype ship for the Enterprise-E which is called the USS Sovereign.

My personal favorite is the Akira Class, it has good speed and a compliment of Quantum Torpedoes.

Yeah, I know but I'm anticipating an Expansion Pack that may just add them, until then, you can donwload mods for them www.bcfiles.com but they can only be used in the Single Player Quick Battle. Although the Excelsior Class is not 24th century its 21st, if you want to fly that, you can always go play Starfleet Academy.

Oh and for the sake of arguement, its Defiant and Intrepid Class, there is no Voyager class starship. Voyager IS an Intrepid Class. Hehe, you can tell I'm a Star Trek freak. :p And proud of it!

I forgot to mention it features guest stars Patrick Stewart (Jean-Luc Picard) and Brent Spiner (Data) for voice overs.

hrrm... what's your view on Enterprise?

oh and the Excelsior turned up in the DS9 war battles btw (along with other old ships) so it's obviously a successful old ship that gets a lot of use :p

I didn't know that.

I like Enterprise ok, its not the best. I like the three in the 24th century the best. There are a lot of inconsitencies...

for example, the Klingons in Star Trek looked different than in The Next Generation, and in an episode of DS9 they explained that it was a genetic war that caused the ridges on their heads. But now in Enterprise, they have them, and this is before TOS.

Also, in TOS with Kirk, they were going at speeds of Warp 10 and higher, in an episode of TNG, they explained that with a better understanding of warp technology, they had refined the definition of warp to where 9.9 was the highest possible. In Enterprise, they are using the 24th century definitions where 9 is still considered the highest.

I kinda think that it may have been a bad idea to go back into the past, but never-the-less its still a good show.
I think the ship looks cool, it was designed as a combination of the Enterprise (from TOS) and an upside down akira class. You can really see the qualities, the warp nacells are clearly from the Enterprise, the saucer is from the Akira and the bridge-like area between the nacells is an upside down form of the Akira. I guess its called an Enterprise Class starship since it is the NX prototype. Captain Archer said they were building three more at Utopia Planetia, I hope they get them finished sometime later in the series.

I don't consider myself a Trekkie, Trekkies are those who dress up as Kirk or Spock and go visit conventions where they learn to speak Klingon.

I just watch the shows and play some of the video games.

I liked the original series, it was inspiring as a kid,

Kirk was the Man, his mission to seek out new flesh and get busy wit it ;)
