Hi i have recently aquired doa2 but it runs really slow. I have lowered the CPU a bit which sped it up a little but its still runs at a really slow pace. Also my specs topple the ones that chankast are looking for. So does any1 know how i could speed this up or if i can do it at all. Also thanks to mark about telling me about this emu and forum.

Well im not being funny but at the minute ive tried about 5 different games all run at bad speeds. But hell its a start about 6 months ago dc emulation was a myth. So are there any games that do play at full speed at the time being.

There are a few little tricks I picked up. You can either overclock your cpu fsb or better yet, disable your sound device in device manager. I got a 10fps increase without sound. Pretty good, making DOA:LE almost playable at 26fps. Some people say they got 30-40 with AXP3200 which is very playable judging from my experience.

What about your machine specs? Maybe your CPU is not enough for good DC emulation in such a complex games like DoA2 and Shenmue. And yes people with atleast AthlonXP2500+ have a good fps in those games.

Ive tried that and it seems i cant get anything faster than 17fps. Also on cd 3 day 2 of job i beat some people up after they pick on mark and then it just goes to a black screen and hangs. Any ideas?

Ive just tried doa2 at 80 and it goes at about 16-17 fps really slow.

Also soul calibur at about 20fps

It's your amount of memory. 256 MB RAM is not enough. Make sure you don't leave too much programs open or upgrade your PC to 512MB RAM or 1GB RAM.

Not enough? Boy, you don't know anything. :/

I ran Chankast with 256MB ram yesterday, it ran exactly the same as with 512. The amount of ram will not affect ingame fps.

Hmm - maybe you playing directly from CD? If so, then try to make image of disk and play from it. 20fps in SC is not normal for 2400+ - should be about 50fps,25 in DoA2 and about 25-30 in Shenmue...

Don`t know where is the problem... Atleast try to reinstall all your system including OS and all drivers... BTW what about your motherboard?
