That Damn Good
Make sure you have pj64 1.5 and the service pack installed. Also make sure that the onboard sound for your motherboard is turned off. What games are you trying to play, because some games have sound problems.

don't mean to be slow but by service pack do you mean microsoft service pack? i have that, came with the pro version of xp. i'm having this delayed sound problem with extreme g, mission impossible, and goldeneye...and that's all the roms i have so far, gonna test a few more later when i download them. but they worked fine (audio-wise) on nemu64 but IMO that emulator is not too great. when it comes to video, P64 is the best. i just hope i can fix this audio problem too.

Mystic Gohan means the service pack for PJ64. It is available from:

http://pj64.emulation64.com/support/

The plugins that were not dll files were probably meant for Linux, if so, you won't need them if you are using WinXP Pro SP1 as you say.

I'd also try Azimer's Audio 0.30, 0.40 and 0.50 all sync'd to gameplay, and you can also try different RSP plugins, one of which is available with Mupen64 which also affects audio. Just rename it and put it in your plugin directory (don't overwrite the original RSP though).

i have tried the other audio plugins and i found that one of them along with the original RSP from P64 is good for goldeneye but thats about it. However I've found that if I use the Jabo video plugin for nemu64 extreme g is almost flawless but goldeneye won't even load (but I think goldeneye doesnt load either way so nevermind that). but heres my new dilemma; i'm trying to implement nemu64's audio plugin with P64, but once I select the plugin in options P64 crashes and never opens again. i'm obviously doing something wrong but if I'm not then I guess nemu64's audio plugin is meant for nemu64 only which really sucks for me. i'd rather have these two work together than find another working audio plugin for P64 but if that's not possible then my search continues.

I don't think Nemu's audio is zilmar spec. so it won't work (might be wrong though, I don't use Nemu much)

I believe Schibo's audio will solve your audio problems when the new 1964 is released, so look out for that.

Also, you could try Azimer's Audio Fix (Modified PJ64 1.4 with a new audio plugin for use with this modified PJ64 only) It is available here.

This may be a better solution, but I don't know if this audio fix plugin works properly with the new 1964, a betatester/author could confirm if it has been implemented or not.

thanks for all the guidance Clements. i've decided to use two emulators for my roms. Nemu64 with the Jabo video plugin and PJ64 1.5. thanks for the info about 1964, didn't think any more emulators were being made/updated. once again thanks.
