Sound is not accurate

I noticed that the sound isn't accurately synchronized to the game with jabo's direct sound plugin, e.g. when I jump in Super Mario 64 Mario makes his "huh" - noise when he reaches the highest point of his jump. I know that I must hear this sound effect immediately after pressing the button but it comes too late.

Is this a problem with my sound card or a known issue with the plugin and is there any way to correct this?

The decent one
This generally happens with onboard cards, but there are a few other things which can cause this problem:

- Triple buffering of GFX plugin with a too high resolution (seems to be the most logical with your GFX card).
- Too large buffer in the sound plugin (you can't really do anything with this since Jabo's has no setting dialog for this. Trying another sound plugin, like Azimer's, should fix this when using a smaller buffer).
- Old soundcard drivers (search for a newer version on the homepage of your soundcard brand).

Sometimes in emulation the audio is put a little after the video to give a speed increase. If the audio was 100% with the GFX then the sound would probably be glitchy. Try different plugins and some of them will let you make the audio closer to the video, but with a HORRIBLE gfx card like yours, it'll probably be REALLY bad. I used to use an S3 ProSavage card, but they're pitiful, and you can NEVER enjoy gaming with them. I just recently bought a better gfx card, and you should too. A GeForce2 MX400 is only around $60.
