It was JDoom, just without the hi-res textures... Heh, I re-downloaded JDoom to check out the hi-res textures, and found out that the OpenGL mode suddenly works like shit, and the D3D one lags for me... Grrr...

Yeah that was me that posted a jDoom thread a while back, just without those frikken kickass high-res textures! I still can't believe how great it looks! Now if only the authors of Doomsday would bring everything else up to speed, like lighting, sky rendering, decals, etc, jDoom could be a good competitor for Tenabre!

ok, someone needs to make a detailed faq.

like on smiff's site, as to how to put all the new eye candy into doom and get those frame rates....

i've messed with it (for several hours over a 56k), but i'd just like a fast simple way to upgrade all my doom wads, and get maximum eye candy....

is jdoom the way to go or legacy? or one of the many cool gpl ones? what's the best gameplay:eye candy ratio? etc.?

is there a site with this info already?
