Simcity4 question

Hi..I'm facing problem white playing sc4..After half an hour of creating,building & earning money..Houses & factories become black and people abandon them..At first I thought that it's air pullotion so I built houses far away..but NO USE..Can sc4 fans help me???

It's usually because of your Taxes, as the city gets bigger, taxes will inevitably need to go up to support it, which means the houses that are not huge, will become abandoned, in my opinion, SC's tax system has always sucked, it makes it near impossible to make a successful city unless you follow something out of a prima startegy guide.

I've never really had any luck actually playing the Sim City games, I always end up cheating and getting a bunch of cash.
