Cool. Yeah you can't drag apps to other screens, has to do with how the X11 protocol is specified. Does 3d acceleration work with xinerama on nvidia cards?

It does for me, im on the 2.6.8 kernel because I can't get SuSe to jump up to 2.6.10-760 from its YOU Center. I don't know why, nor do I care at this point, the nice thing about SuSe is when you load 9.2 it tells you it can't legally bundle the nVidia drivers with its installer. So in YOU, it lets you grab the nVidia drivers, and then it installs them for you. I play Doom 3 on my linux top no problem, even multiplayer is smooth. So in short, yes it does. The way you set up dual tops is kind of strange though, you actually have to install your video card twice, and then label one for monitor 1 and one for monitor 2, it only took me about 2 tries and 20 minutes to get it right.

Yeah configuring X sucks greasy monkey ballz.
Hmm interesting, tempting to buy an nvidia card. Fucking tired of shitty ATI support. Their binary drivers are an embarassement, and the DRI drivers are not that much better. They actually used to be better like 6 months back...

Until about 2 weeks ago I was using a 9600XT, which I only ever got 3D Acceleration to work once on Fedora Core 1, long ago, and then when I started seriously messing with Linux I had to jump ship in favor of nVidia, I love my XFX 6800 to death.

Well, I'm happy with my GeForce 4 Ti 4200 video card for now. ;)

It beats my poor Radeon 9000 Pro video card..........And if people are saying that ATI sucks for driver support, then I guess that I did the right thing.

Yeah I like the GF4Ti series, nice solid cards and if you dont need DX9 support they do perfectly well (like in linux for example).
