Is it possible to get those FANCYYYY themes for Win98.
Not the bog standard color changes but the new shapes and 3D stuff?

Use Windowsblinds. Look it up in google, download and find a patch or keygen. Not that I'm soliciting anything illeagal. ::slapped on the wrist::

Why I like aston....

Explorer alone uses a nasty ammount of memory at times (I've seen it reach the 120 meg range). Windowblinds isn't much better. Aston on the other hand rarely goes higher than this:

I hate windowsblinds too, but unless he can move to XP, he's stuck with it. I don't really like aston either. And I think it's XP only.

Actually if I turn off all the enhancements then its about the same, but Aston can make it look fancy without the memory so yes its a lot better.

cooliscool: w2k explorer does have less bloat, but even it has the bloat problems. It's easy to make explorer in either w2k or XP drop to taking up only 1 meg (open the task manager and go to the processes tab, then without minimizing it or closing it, open your "my computer" window), but it will quickly fill back to its more comfortable 10 meg range. I have no idea why this is, but while you run games, explorer will start boating to 20-30 megs easily. Aston seems to do the opposite, it starts shrinking in memory size when you run memory hungry programs. I do notice a speed increase as a result.
