Settings for Geforce 2 MX

New member
I am using GF2 MX and the 61.77 driver. I've been messing around with the settings of Rice's Plugin 6.1.1, but I got no luck. I get weird colours on some screen. Can anyone tell me what's an optimal setting for Rice plugin with my card?

Thanks in advance~~

Oh i see
So, the conclusion is that I should not use Rice.
I should use Jabo or other old ones.

LOL

No the conclusion is ... use old driver or die :p

The real conclusion is just try old driver with your card.
I have trying all official nvidia driver since 3x.?? to 7x.?? and for me the best was the 45.23

I have the same card . I had no idea it was recommended to use the older drivers. So much for universal :yucky:.

I'll give it a try when I get home.

i switched back to 45.23 and I get this screen..
I am not sure if my settings is wrong.
But can anyone tell me why?
could it be that i chose the wrong combiner?
I chose the combiner for old cards..like TNT/GF2..etc

Anyways, thanks in advance~

Try Detonator 28.32, 14x (or 12x).

The 45.23 work very whell for me if I choose the geforce combiner. Effectively if I choose the limited 2 combiner, with my geforce 2 mx 200 and any driver, that's work, but I have some minor error in color texture, in some game. But when I use the Geforce combiner, It's almost perfect with the 45.23. And with the 45.23 jabo's 1.6 video plugin work better than ever.
I think that the driver after have new system combiner optimisation that not work very whell with the "old" geforce combiner. Just to test use the geforce combiner with the rice 6.1.0c and the 71.xx. I think post some screenshot with majora's mask and paper mario. STAY TUNE :D

All config that I speek is for DirectX, because with OpenGL the framebuffer was not implement :(

Can you post screenshot to show the problem ^_^.

I have test another idea :p .

That's seems to work. I have only test with the last forceware.

Install last forceware, and in rice plugin's, use the default config except ...
use directx
force "limited 2 combiner".

If you use pj64, use the advanced setting and set the "use direct3d pipeline". I don't know why, but If I don't enable this some polygon and texture does not appear ????

I don't know why the TNT/Geforce combiner not work after 45.23 .
May be a new "optimisation" in the forceware driver or a new combiner system ??? NVidia is not very "eloquant" to this modification.

i switched back to 45.23, because I have geforce2 mx and used the combiner for the TNT/GF2
and my screen shots is shown on the previous post.
Am I suppose to get the white background in Mario Kart 64, like I have in my screenshots?

Pounch: I have no idea where this Pipeline option is... I'm using PJ64 v1.6, cant find it anywhere. I seem to have fixed a few of my graphical errors by tweaking some of those options, though (like the limited 2 combiner) while using the newest drivers.

the pipeline option is in the jabo's video plugin ;). It's an advnaced option.
To Maelstrom. OOOOOPPPPPPS Sorry ^_^.
I have read too fastly the post. lol. And effectively I have the same problem with the rice plugin :D.
But with jabo that's work...

The Super2xSal is a 2d filter :D. It's only apply to textures.
But The FSAA 4x may slow down dramaticly the speed ( on Geforce2 MX even more :p ),
if laggy mean "slow down" like "a lag" in network speeking, I think that it would be better you turn off the FSAA 4x.

PS: Sorry but I'm just a stupid french, and my english even more :p !

I have an Nvidia Gforce2 MX..... OLD DRIVERS BAD IDEA!!!

Use the newest drivers, and use OpenGL in Rice for best results.
also, DirectX dosent work well on older cards...

I have an Geforce4 MX PCI. I used it first on a system with Windows XP and now in Windows 98 SE. In terms of speed I dont see any difference betweem the new and the old drivers. I find version 61.77 to be the most stable since with newer versions there were some other problems (the computer hangs when I switch Dos-box in full screen).

Only in Virtua Tennis an older version worked well (I think it was 31.82) and had tolerable speed. but with the newer drivers the game becomes choppy.
