HTAFC will rise again!!!
Im trying to set up TV-Out so i can play my games on a bigger screen, :) , however, my TV has no S-Video or scart.

I figured that i could still hook up to my video (which is connected to my TV) the only thing is my video doesn't have s-video either, however it does have a scart conector.

Is there a way to go from s-video to scart? Which cables would I need are they expensive?

I hope what ive said makes sence because im not very knowledgeable in this field.

Any help much appreciated!!

Or even better, get something called "DVD-kit". I bought one from a local electrics store, it was about $25 but has everything you need and maybe a little more. :)

Use TVTool to switch easily from using your monitor to using your TV.

Assuming he has a nvidia card

although I prefer not to use it... just because you can't use both at the same time (unless your monitor supports low frequencies (mine doesn't))

have fun with it!

Doomulation

?????????????????????????
Actually, i'd prefer to use twinview/nview if possible. Since it can be activated without changing the freq. at the source.
It's horrible to watch a monitor with 50hz freq. rate, you know :(
And tv-tool mess up the screen while in tvout-mode. It isn't correctly centered.

I have got an Nvidia card (Geforce 3 Ti 200)

My TV has no S-Video or scart, however my Video does have a scart socket.

I've been told that i can still use TV-out through my video but im having trouble getting any results.

Ive got a scart converter in the back of my video and an s-video lead going from that converter to my computer but im not getting anyware.

I went into a shop and and told them my situation, they told me what i would need and said it is possible to use my video to display tv-out.

Im stuck HELP!!!

On my laptop, you just plug the s-video cable into the tv and the spdif cable into the stereo, then close the lid, and viola, tv out. ^_^

Yes but nvidia doesnt include drivers for TV out in their standard detonators. And thus you need an external program. You laptop must not have a nvidia chip.

Sure they do... unless you call nview an external program...

Nview is not TV Out, Nview supports multiple desktop interface like linux, IT management, Zoom modes, multiple monitors and many other things but not TV-Out.

Oh, and yes, those are the reference drivers, they are not made by dell. In fact, the latest dell provided drivers are the 3x.xx series. The reason it says "dell mobile" in there is because these are hacked drivers, but all thats modified is the supplied .inf file, nothing more. Also I didn't include much of the parent window, but thats also under the nview properties.

Unfortunately that doesnt work unless the card manufacturer does it by Nvidia specs. What I'm saying is there is no driver support for most expansion cards. Alpha I just noticed you said you were using a laptop, most likely Nforce. Nforce is manufactured directly by Nvidia and therefore it will work. I on the other hand have a MSI Geforce 3 Ti200 and if I plug a TV into it that option in the drivers is still unsuppoted... and also, that IS NOT Nview your looking at there, it is merely a portion of the Nvidia drivers..

For the older cards, this is true, but not for the later generation gf2 and up cards.

No, Nforce is nvidias athlon chipset, with a built in geforce card, for desktops, theres no such thing for laptops. My laptop is a pentium 3 1ghz, the chipset is made by intel, not nvidia. The graphics card is actualy modular, in fact you can take it out and replace it with an ATI one. (well, its not realy a card, its a bit odd shaped, but most newwer laptops support this modular standard).

Well, maybe you aren't quite sure what your doing yet :)

Nview is a portion of the nvidia drivers. Lets see what happens when I move the device settings window down and to the right a bit:

if I resize the image I can make it all in one shot rather than bring up the device settings window:

mesman00

What's that...?
nview gives me a problem...i will only display video on my primary display driver. i mean, i can see the desktop and everything, but the one that isn't the primary display driver only displays video as black. anyone know how to fix this. i happened when i updated to the 40.00 driver series.

Well I had a whole reply for you but Microshit Windows decided to crash on me and I lost it, but basically, that TV option was created in the drivers long before Nview, check the page I gave you, it doenst say a damn thing about TV-Out.

Second I have and image that I cant upload cause my computer wont let me upload to emutalk that shows the option is greyed out even though my computer is plugged into a tv. This can be because of the card or the other option is because of the tv but either way, TV tool works and Nvidias stupid drivers dont. Period, the end, end of story, I did research all of this a some time ago, if you go looking around you can find the same info I did, but thats the problem with the world today they are just too lazy.

So in short

Nvidia Drivers - dont support TV out (if they dont support all systems/tv's they dont classify as supporting it)
TV Tool - supports all TVs and Systems with nvidia cards

Furthermore, I'm not arguing with you about it anymore, I know what I'm talking about.
