Okay guys now bare with me, I am new to this Emulator stuff.
I downloaded 1964 and Goldeneye. I started it up and the controller thing came up with "please connect controller" Well I found my way around that...

Here comes the real problem. When I got into game, the sound was HORRIBLE and I could barely see A THING!

What's wrong???

Please specify your specs

It may be helpful that you tell us your specs. What processor / graphics card / sound card does your computer has?.

In order to emulate N64 with reasonable quality you must have a reasonabily good processor / graphics card, RAM enough, etc...

Remember that because you have a low post count doesn't mean you are a n00b. You can stick around for years and study and learn without posting. Or registering.

That's true, but in this context a low post count does indicate that a user is a newbie. Remember that the word "n00b" doesn't only refer to lack of knowledge.

As for the problem... is the game running full speed? 50/60 VI/s (50 for PAL and 60 for NTSC)? Otherwise, did you try sync to sound?
Might be common problems. Also, trying different gfx plugins may help.

Hey, I'm also trying to play goldeneye, but I can't seem to get it working. At the mission select screen, right after you select everything and you're about to start the level the game stops doing anything. The screen just stays black with no music or anything. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Okay my specs

3.5 ghz processor dual core amd
ati 9600 256 mb agp
1.5 gb of RAM

Not much more except a 20'' flat screen

Everything is as high as it can be, but I downloaded Project 64
IT IS THE BEST EMULATOR EVER! I can play anything now on 64 so, I recommend Project64 to everyone.

But i'd still like 1964 to work

Very good specs, enough for playing Goldeneye.

So, do you mean that you can play Goldeneye with Project64?

It doesn't work at all? What plugins are you using? Please start 1964, press Ctrl+P and note all the plugins you are using. Have you configured the input plugin? Sound plugin?

Please give us some more details, and it will be more easy to give you some help.

Not true, a noob is quite simply...a new member, with low post count. I know this, several forums i have been to refers new people as noob in the status field. And i am a mod of a site, so..Anyway, lets help out the new guy here..You have to make sure you have the right plugin. The video plugin that comes with 1964 isn´t that good, just copy the plugins from pj64 over to 1964, and try to use jabo. Jabo is always the best choice.

Not true; there are multiple standard definitions for "n00b", as there are for "newbie". There is no "correct" opinion or "correct" context for the word.

Rebegining of the story

Hi, and sorry for degenerating this thread into a about noobs discusion!

Thanks EmuFan! I´m really interested in emulation, and I have a BS in computer science. That's because sometimes (and only sometimes) I know what am I talking about.

Anyway, I don't have knowledge enough to start a simple emulator yet. I'm just trying to adquire it (not only posting and reading in the forums) but I think I can help... a bit, and learn... a lot!

Thanks to everybody sharing experience and knowledge in this forum!
