First off i am new here and my name is Mike

I have an urgent question on which i need some help it concerns the Super Mario Kart ROM which i have installed on my computer.

The game starts up fine without any problems and proceeds fine until the race is about to start and that is when my screen freezes up and i dont seem to know what the problem is. What is required to prevent my screen from freezing up again since this is getting very aggrivaing.

Any help would be much appreciated

I would never have guessed that judging by your username ;)

First of all, it often pays dividends to let everyone know what computer specifications you have. The main things that need to be known in most cases is the graphics card, and Operating System that you have.

In case you are unsure about what graphics card you have, go to:

Start>Run and type DXdiag
Go to Display, and look at what it says besides Name

Also you should check the rom with GoodN64, available from here: http://www.smiff.clara.net/utilities/rom/index.htm

It wouldn't hurt if you told us all what plugins you are using as well, I would tend to recommend you stick to Jabos D3D for the moment.

Your computer is a little bit slow but if you get Glide64 - available from:

http://glide64.emuxhaven.net/

Then with a little luck you may get the game to not only work, but you "may" get some playable framerates also.

The Glide64 site seems to be down at the moment, so I will attach the plugin to this thread - unzip it into your plugins folder, and select it via the plugins menu in PJ64.

I would have to say that SupraHLE or Corn would be the options that would probably yield the better results due to the speed of those emulators on lower end machines.

Thank you so much for your suggestions including the Glide 64 plugin zip file i will try them both and hopefully one of them will work so that i can finally run the game.

Re install PJ64

You *must* clear all Project 64 and plugin settings, delete the Project64 folder, and re extract the Project64 files.

I had this problem before, and was fixed after doing that.
