Man on a mission
TheFreeman said:Mezkal, I could have decided not to answer the question, but Im not on this community to NOT help people, and try to act like a smartass without being useful at all. Im here to help the users, and ocassionally, receive a little help. I believe we all need help, and in return, we must all help each other. I believe that's what a community is all about. But that is just me.
TheFreeman I am not here to be a smartass in the least. I love my DC and all its games. Furthermore I've been a staunch and longterm supporter of the emulation community (of which many of the power players are my friends) ever since the heady days of #Bleem on EFnet.
My purposes of mentioning that threads like this should be locked is that they refer quite explicitly to methodologies for 'modding' 'backled-up' games. These games were originally intended to be distributed on 1GB GD ROM discs and not 700MB CDs. Any discussion about any game that is being read via CD-ROM is a piracy discussion. Therefore answering anyone's direct question on how to modifiy flag's in IP.BIN to allow a hacked rip of a retail product to load via CD Emulation layer like Daemon Tools into Chankast is also piracy. Referring those with questions to the "Homebrewed Bootable CD' threads to find thier own solution is not.
I want Chankast to stay around. Therefore I do whatever I can to help the project. Piracy discussions on the public web board that's meant to be the community support centre for Chankast will only bring the ire of publishers long term. Think I'm wrong? Think about what happened in the SNES/NES emulation community or #Bleem for god's sake.
Chankast is an impressive project and it deserve's not only support but also our vigilance if it's going to survive.
Peace
