Sadly this is a common problem in America. ****sexual, transgender people, etc, are very often the target of vicious bullies, which often results in this.

Something needs to be done about it, although I don't really trust Obama or the congress to come up with a solution.

There are cities and jobs in the states that are welcoming to LBGT persons. If you fall into this category, find one of these jobs and be comfortable who you are. You are not alone, and money is far less important. The rest of the world will change slowly but surely; we're listening.

I have several LBGT friends who have left the discriminative norms of the blue/white collar workplace to take a more accepting job in the service industry.
