I'm curious if any of you have the adaptoid or whatever else is out there that will make your n64 controller rumble (or psx, if it works). I actually bought the adaptoid and use the n64 controller and find that the rumbling only works for certain games. Zelda ocarina of time, for instance, works fine. But Conker's bad fur day, I never felt any rumbling.

Anybody know why?

I cannot fathom why anyone would want to go to all the trouble and expense to try to use a piece of shit N64 controller on their computer. Do you also want to use the 8-bit NES controller when using JNES or how about using the Atari joystick when playing Atari games on your computer. Especially with the rumble pak, the N64 one is bulky, heavy and I HATE the 3 prongs design, it uncomfortable. Everything about it is garbage COMPARED to modern PC controllers; the akward hard to push d-pad, cruddy SINGLE analog stick- just everything about it SUCKS. Go and spend $20 on a descent dual analog, rumbling Thrustmaster controller or something, something wireless maybe, something that's ergonamically comfortable and actually contours to your hand and has twice as many buttons so you can use it with new PC games and have all the functions on you gamepad. Seriously, newer is better in this case.

Oh really. Your the one with retarded logic here. Looky here you muff, why the f--- don't you go out find a god damn NES system and games and hook it up to your freakin' TV and play look we all did in the 80's if you need such accutrate nastalgia! Huh, I want an answer to that! Maybe because this is free uh? Gee, I don't remember games being free in the 80's, but maybe I'm wrong.
I'm ALL for nastalgia, that's why I have so many atari and nes on my computer-because that's what I grew up with. But we are using emulators and pc's and filters and higher res.s and monitors with higher clarity. Why? To enhance the gameplay a bit. It gives us another reason go back through and enjoy a game. How is all that different from a god damn controller idiot?!

Uh, well, a lot of n64 games are kind of catered to the controller, for instance Zelda. When you're used to the z-button on the bottom and the c-buttons on the right, personally I'd rather just use the n64 controller when playing n64 games. Pretty much every other console doesn't matter.

And good god, what crawled up your ass?

Well, XxcrashxX tried to crawl up my ass but I said no. I wasn't trying to be mean the first post here, just stating some facts and curiosity. I mean the system went out of production not even 2 years ago, and this one over here is saying "Oh the nastagia, oh the nastagia". Then proceding to attack me PERSONALLY which I feel was childish and it's stuff like that that crawls up my ass.
On my controller, their are triggers on the back almost in the exact same spot as that Z button and alot of controllers have six buttons on the gamepad front so you can use 4 of those for your C's (which I feel are easier to use than the tiny c-buttons).
Nevermind I guess, you guys have such good reasons to use those controllers anyway and nothing I said is true apparently so, whatever.

Well, no real harm done, I guess. You use the controller you want, and I'll use the one I want. We're both happy.

Khan, just to point a specific example, have you played castlevania64 with it, and does it rumble for you? I only played it for a bit, because it did not seem to work. In the very beginning, the tree was struck by lightning and fell over, and a few paces down the road, that huge skeleton was romping around and none of it made any vibration.

From everything I read, those two Castlevania games SHOULD have rumble, but with my controller I get nothing from both. And every other game I have that's suppose to rumble, works fine (except for VRally'99 which faintly rumbles only sometimes when it should). This ocurs in PJ64 as well. So maybe these things are an emu or N-rage bug or something.

Hmm. Weird. Seems like it should work for any game that's available, but I guess not. I guess I could live without the feature, but what can I say? I'm a stickler. :)

Sorry, this is still buggin me. Just wanna know if anybody else is have the rumble problem. I just wanna get a shout from people who actually have had castlevania (either n64 game) or conker's bad fur day rumble.

Again, a minor feature, but DAMN IT, I LOVE N64 EMU, so pardon me for being fickle. ;)

a little late into the conversation.

I don't know. remember all the tricks people learned on the turbo controllers to level up guys in the old RPG's like final fantasy 3 and s***!
there is a little "nastalgia" attached to the use of the old controllers. I KNOW i would use the NES controllers if i could! and the snes ones! but I just cant see using the N64 controller at all. did any one else get blisters from the minigames in MARIO PARTY? I mean it was a good idea to get in the habit of putting a lot of buttons on the controller! but did you have to make it a b**** to go between the dpad and the analog stick? now when it comes to playstation controllers and the n64 i get legends point.

Actually, I have yet to find a good PC controller that emulates the D pad well, or the NES D pad either for that matter, over all though the wireless Saitek controllers are excellent. And they have little recharging stations, so there's no crap battery switching all the damn time.

:D

Actually, I just tried it, and didn't get rumble in _anything_.

...

Then I realized my batteries were dead. I'll try again once I get some more batteries.
