No, I'm not requesting roms or anything, but I would like to know how so many people are discussing games on this site, when there are no information n roms or anything!

I'm a newbie to emulation, and would like to know what the point of downloading an emulator is if you can't use it ?

Well i for one take great joy in the techinal side of the emulator, and there are always Public Domain roms availible.

U can always buy a dumping-machine and dump your own ROMs then play them :> This would be "legal" ;]

The point of emulation is to play roms, public domain or not. It's up you if you wanna download illegal roms and play it using an emu, but since it's illegal we try to keep it out of emutalk :)

Actually, that is discussalbe...in most countries you have a right to make a personal backup of software, audio and so on. But, I think the games maybe has a EULA which says that you are not allowed to copy it. But if that thing stays above the law i dunno. A court would have to decide that..

Not really. Making a piece of software that runs certain file types is perfectly legal.

there is no point in downloding a emulator if your not going to use it.

actually, other than the exact location of where to get illegal roms...this place tells you everything else about them.

for example:
how to get the illegal ones - see azimer's thread in nemu's forum
how to get the legal ones - i think there are a lot on emulation64.com
how to tell if yours are "good" - see every other thread in the emulator forums
how to get certain roms to work on certain emulators - see certain emulator's forum

...so you see, there is lots of information on roms on this board, we tell as much as possible without crossing the line.

I don't know where your from, but in the US its perfectly legal fair use to dump a rom image from a cartridge that you own. There is no law anywhere in the US that contradicts this statement.

haha i took it down anyways, i dont have much time to work on it anymore ;). but i still got a forum up *cough*s club*cough* ;)

btw those aren't my roms anyways :p
