if people can make emulators to play games showing all the correct models and textures, how come nobody has made a program to show and edit stuff inside of a game? I have seen Tile Molestor, but i cant get the textures to show right...

I like beer
www.shedevr.org.ru/zelda64rus
OoT is 100% translated into russian now, including compressed stuff
(you will also find some hacking tools for zeldas in "how to" section

also Majora's Mask's & Earthworm Jim 64's russian translations are in progress now

It's very hard to hack n64 games because of different compression methods in games
mario uses one, zelda - another, conker - yet another and so on.
There are no universal tool for n64 roms, and this is bad.
Really bad.

Also go to www.dextrose.com - they have tons of n64 utilities, but mainly for n64 backup units.

As for textures (and even 3D models) - you can dump them with nemu and some gfx plugins, but quality is ugly.

I wish I knew what I was doing for tile dumping, or else Id re-make Body Harvest, but well the tiles are all screwed up in that game. I mean you cant cross bridges, and I eventually got as far as the windmill, and I cant even get near it, its as if theres glass there.

I dont think its possible with N64 ROMS yet, but i know it is for NES and SNES. I do not understand why you replied with my quote?

of course it is, you can use the defalt audio plugin on project64 to start a .wav recording in perfect quality, and then search for a free audio converting program from www.download.com to convert it into a smaller mp3 :)

The problem there though is that you might not get the full track to play (for whatever reason).

I'ts more like trying to record a song from a movie while you're watching the movie, rather than separately from the soundtrack. :)

Google for: dBPowerAmp ,it's a good (free) program to convert wavs into mp3s and vice versa.

You surely are a noob, norwaynoob. Avoid necro-ing threads from now on. And anyone who's reading this thread and wants to know how to listen to n64 music, there's a whole library of USF's for the USF plugin of Winamp's which plays the music at the same quality as the original. This may or may not be a bad thing.

No reason why editing roms shouldn't be entirelly possible. If we can take data out (ie textures, levels, models, etc)... it goes back in the exact same way. Editing code would be much trickier, but the graphics wouldn't be too difficult. (Heck, people have already found ways to do it with GameCube)

I do a lot of this myself. I've found it's quite difficult on N64. Emulators are imperfect and require non-crappy PCs, the games are very unforgiving and compressed to hell and back, and N64 in general has little info available.
