Hello, I am new to the forum, but i have been using pj64 for a little while.

I am having a problem with Resident Evil 2. When i get to a scene that has dialogue, the game freezes and no voices can be heard. The majority of the other games i have work

The specs that i am running are the following:

WindowsXP
1.7 GHz
640 Ram
Video card - nvidia geforce2 Mx/mx400

I am using Project 64 v1.6
plugins are jabo's 1.5.2 - video
jabo's 1.6 - audio
jabo's 1.6 - input

thanks for the help

I unclicked "hide advanced settings" and the "register caching" box was unchecked, so i checked it. I then started the game to see if it worked and it didn't. so i unchecked the box and closed the rom and started it again.

the rom doesn't freeze, and the voice can now be heard, but the voice is still scratchy and very hard to understand sometimes. it kinda sounds like a very high pitched sound.

ah.. yes there's some apparently random problem here.. not sure of the cause sorry. keep reg cache off yes. the high pitch sound is normal, this is a bug.

ok there was a hacked RSP trotter just reminded me off..
try enabling RSP audio signal (same place!) and play like that, let me know if any better/worse..

edit: also if you want to make game fill screen, change RDRAM size to 4MB, then go into video plugin rom settings and set resolution width to 320. if you don;t understand this dont worry, its a seperate issue from the hanging.

i enabled the rsp audio signal with the reg cache off but i get no dialogue but there is other sounds.

when i enabled reg cache w/o rsp audio, there is the same sound problem. I seem to be back at square one. i tried to enable/disable reg cache but that isn't working at all. the game does work w/o freezing but there is just no dialogue.

are there any other standard option i might need to change?

you won't get dialogue working, its just not support atm.. sorry. best you can get is no hang.

You download the sound plugin and then put it in the plugins folder. Load up PJ64 and go to configure plugins, then select Azimer's audio beta from the sound plugin list.
