Question about ROM framerates

First of all, I'll say that this is a question pertaining to WWF No Mercy specifically, although it's a technical issue, so hopefully, even if you haven't played it or have no interest in it, you might still be able to help me out here.

Anyway, I have two different ROMs for WWF No Mercy. One I got a long time ago (Project 64 1.4 era, I believe), and the other I got just recently. The problem is that when THQ shipped the game originally, it had a glitch that would periodically erase all saved information from the cart. Thankfully, my physical copy wasn't one of these, so I didn't know about or have to deal with the problem until I started playing on Project 64. But when I switched, I eventually found that my copy of the ROM was a glitched one.

In responce to that, I tracked down a different ROM and, presumably, it isn't glitched. I don't really know because it runs at 50 FPS, where as the glitched one runs at a much nicer 60 FPS (making the presumably okay ROM about 12% slower). Is there any way I can manually change the default framerate on the new ROM so it's 60 FPS (or even higher)?

Thanks in advance to anyone that could help or would like to, and I apologise if this has been asked before.

scan your ROMS with GoodN64.
i'm guessing your new one is PAL so it should run at 50.. you could hack the header for the emu to run it 60, but then the sound would be bad.
afaik theres no >v1.0 No Mercy NTSC ?

Oh, yeah. Now that I look at it, it is listed as "E" instead of "U." Crap.

I suppose, then, it is supposed to be running at 50 FPS. But it's so dreadfully slow!

I'll try out GoodN64, thanks. Just out of curiosity, your No Mercy ROM. It's a .rom file? My NTSC one is, and the PAL one is .z64.

EDIT: And they're both v1.0.

Hmm... there's only one glitch that I know of for the U version and that's the "not saving anymore" glitch. There's solution for it if you need it

Sure.

My problem, specifically, is that after some point (was right after I started changing around the stables the first time, and after I finished my 12th CAW the second time) that, while the information would still work for play, as soon as I went to the Smackdown! Mall, my memory (purchased items, belt information, CAWs, etc.) were wiped clean. I wasn't using any cheatcodes, although when I started the game, I quickly check and then unchecked the "unlock all" one just to save time.
