So WHAT?! Nintendo still makes great games! And now there comes more titles such as resident evil to the cube.
Hooray to Ninty for securing a line of mediocre survival horror games (pardon me RE fans, but RE does love the wang, and you know that) for the Cube!
Anyway, four to five hours sounds reasonable to me. Handheld consoles are made for bus and train trips, I doubt there are many people out there who drive to work for more than four hours every day.

i also hope that these people won't be playing a handheld while driving

secondly, the DS looks like any normal handheld... the gamecube may look like a child's toy, but DS? wtf? it kinda looks better than the PSP imo... psp is almost TOO slick. the way it's designed, you'll practically have to hold it horizontally, looking down at it. i'd rather the privacy of a fliptop.

regardless, even if you use a laptop to play games on the subway, people will look at you funny. i don't think either the PSP or DS would put you better off.

rofl. what the hell is that thing? it looks like a connect-the-dots.

That is a pretty terrible battery life, but battery technology sucks anyway. Get ready for power outages when some kid plugs his psp into the wall.
wicked. don't mind me, i'm just going to take this PSP and shut down the northeastern power grid now :whistling

I see no point in buying either the DS or the PSP until there are some games avaliable for them that I'd like to play.

That's a good point ! The games are making about 85% of a console's success. If the ff-7 port to the PSP gets renewed Modes or some extra Maps/bosses/side stories , there is even a chance i would buy a PSP !

How about 100% of a console's success? Why would you buy a console if not for the games?

i think nintendo will vouch for that statement...and the n64 proves it. i suppose in case of the ds and the psp both consoles have potential for high 3rd party support though. personally what always kept me from buying a sony console was that, except for a few titles, the game lineup never appealed to me.

Surprisingly a good question. And one that certainly warrants answering. The PS2 sold because it was a Playstation. Just like the way the fan-boys are lapping up the DS because it's a Nintendo.

Consumer loyalty (in any market) is higher than you'd think.
