Project 64 is dead?

No project that's open source is dead. :)
However, the authors have made it clear that they have stopped developing it, but if someone else is ready to take it on, the source has been released.

You mean the source will be released to those who are willing to take on the project. That is, of course, if anyone wants to and contacts the authors.

But what about the plugins? There is still much yet to be improved in the D3D plugins, for example...(I'd like to see a D3D 9 plugin or something, maybe it'll fix some problems that are noticeable). In short, is plugin development by Jabo dead?

No, it has been released. The 1.4 source is available at the official site (and here too, of course. :))

Noone has shown interest yet, so the 1.5 source probably won't be released until someone does.

meh, I should have rephrased that. They won't release the 1.5 source code until they find someone trusted enough to continue the project with it. :p

Also, you said nothing about the version number. No, the source is open, anyone can continue it, trusted or not.

I think the website says it all.

"Less good news for you: at this time some of us will be taking a break and there are no plans for another release".

Doesn't necessarily say the project is dead. The 1.4 source is still available, no one has done much with any of the source yet, and in my eyes the RSP source counts as a plugin :getlost: ...

Jabo, if you still don't know , I'm currently trying to make the pj64 run on the Kaillera network. One thing I dont understand: another guy is trying to do the same thing, but the emu name says "Project64 1.5". I think his nick is makifee. Is he part of the project64 team? did he get the 1.5 source?

That was a april 1st joke with a already Netplay enabled Emu with the name modified for the Emu64 Kaillera Server PHP

I see, sorry if it upset you then the truth was told to all after midnight on the emu64 server and was taken very well :)

These Shots were also taken of nemu in the same name and was equally found amusing

not needed, d3d 6 or d3d 7 are enough, d3d 9 isn't needed.
