Hello all, this is my first post.
I recently built a PSX interface for my PC and it worked well (using the psxpad driver). Then, just for fun, I decided I wanted to build interfaces for every pad that I could get my greasy little hands.
Well, I started building the N64 interface (and got stuck due to not being able to find the IC 4004 needed for shifting), and then proceeded to build the Genesis Interface and the NES interface. I have Windows XP, so I tried the NTPAD driver. The first schematic that I tried with NTPAD was this one:
And it kinda worked. It did not recognize the A button or the Start Button, though. So i tried the new interface (found on the NTPAD webpage, which by the way is down for the moment, and I cant find the schematic anywhere else, but you all probably know which one I'm talking about), and it just didnt work. And in the same webpage, I learned that the Sega Genesis Interface was only compatible with older parallel ports (I have a Pentium 3, and my motherboard is an Asus something.... but I bought it in 2000).
I next tried the NES interface, and it didnt worked either. Since I have knowledge in electronics, I tested the diodes, they were fine, and I tested the interfaces for continuity, and everything was well connected.
So, my conclusion is that there is something wrong with NTPAD (which by the way, crashes every time I close down the "NTPAD Configuration Properties" ...
Anyone had a problem similar to mine? Is NTPAD the only XP driver that will run the NES and Sega Genesis interfaces?

Thanks in advance.
PS. One thing I learned, though, is that when you install the psxpad drivers along with the NTPAD drivers, psxpad wont work. THere is some sort of conflict, and in order to make my psx interface work, I needed to remove the NTPAD driver. So thats another thing that made me suspect of ntpad.
