What's new
  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

I would like to say thanks to squall_leonhart

Problems getting Majora's Mask to work properly.

I'm trying to get Majora's Mask to run properly with Dijip's Majora's Mask Real Textures...the textures work fine and look awesome, but for some reason sometimes the screen goes black in certain scenes. An example of this is when Link is dancing with the scarecrow. The music plays but there's no picture. Another example is when Zelda is teaching Link the Song of Time...there's a text box but all I get is a black flickering screen behind that text box.

I'm playing the US version of Marjoa's Mask with Project 64 1.6 and the latest version of Rice's Video Plugin (6.1.0 I believe), I discovered that disabling Big Textures will fix the problem with scenes like dancing with the scarecrow, but I haven't figured out the screen flickering issue yet. My graphics card is a Geforce 8600 GTS 512 MB, so its not a problem with my card. Anybody have any ideas?

I know in a couple different cut scenes they use frame buffer effects which aren't normally emulated right causing the black screen and flickering you were describing. You can mess with the frame buffer effects with in the options of the plugin to try to get it to work! :)

Sorry for not bein much help... but I try :bouncy:

Good luck!

Checking "Normal Blender" and "Normal Combiner" the current game settings seems to fix this problem (at least for me with my 8600 gt), but therefore it messes everything else up... Isn´t this plugin said to work best on nvidia cards?

He already tried that. Try reading the full post :) Anywho... you could try using the latest rice video plugin by mudlord. He's made quite a few fixes but I'm not sure if he's fixed this bug :(

Here's the link to mudlords rice video plugin: https://ricevideo.bountysource.com/downloads

Another option is to select the Basic framebuffer, but then the scenes where it is used will lag as hell (no matter how good your hardware is) and the stuff will look like it´s made of lego or something (for example the mask@the beginning).
Same goes for the newest version...

Thanks for the suggestions. I thought I was using the latest Rice version but I think mine is SLIGHTLY outdated, so I'll try it and see what happens.

So I updated to the newest version and everything seems to work so far EXCEPT...I got to the scene where Link re-learns the Melody of Time from Zelda and all I get is STILL a black flashing screen with text and sound.

Okay, I fixed it for good now. I switched from Rice to Glide64, everything is perfect, except I'm disappointed that GLide64 doesn't support 1680X1050 resolution.
