What's new
  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

I would like to say thanks to squall_leonhart

Problem Creating HiRes Textures...

I'm making some custom textures in SSB, I have no problems when I don't change the size of the image, but when I change the image size/resolution at all, the texture doesn't work in SSB, it just uses the original texture....
Any help? Thanks!

What resolution are you changing the textures to? What version of rice are you using?

Could you upload a sample texture for me to look at?

Hmm, why is the resolution 150?

2x of 72 would be 144, not 150. Try that and tell me if your problem persists.

OMGZ.
That worked. I wasn't going to tell you, but I was secretly betting you $10 that it wouldn't work. Haha. I didn't know that the new dimensions had to be twice, three times as big, etc., not 1.97 times bigger, haha. I tried 150 dpi because that's a common res in graphic design. Thanks for your help!!

Well it cant be 3X as big. With the version of rice you're using it goes 2X, 4X, With mudlord's latest version of rice's plugin it can go 2X, 4X, 8X, 16X, 32X, and even up to 64X! A little ridiculous but is needed in some cases :)

You can get mudlord's latest plugin here: https://ricevideo.bountysource.com/downloads

Hope this is of some help

Oh, just one more quick question, am I right in thinking that I can only double the resolution of textures, I can't triple the res?
