Plugin and Direct Troubles

I have recently bought the Fallout series. When I installed Fallout 1 the program asked me to update to Direct 3a. So i did just to play fallout. Then when i finished with it i decieded to play Smash Bros. when i did i got these pop ups.

Error Code: 8876086C
D3DERR_Invalid Code

The default or selected video plugin is is missing or invalid

Check that you have at least one compatible plugin in your plugin folder

DirectX Error

Can not intialize DX8, check your direct settings


Now im really upset. I think i lost my direct 3D and ive tried to reinstall but ig et the same messages. Can someone help me plz. This will be greatly appreciated. Ive tried other emulators but again the same results.Plus i cant play some games properly like diddy kong racing and super smash bros to name a few.

No DirectX installer downgrades your DirectX version if you already have a newer version installed prior. Or at least, they shouldn't. Try reinstalling DirectX9 from Microsoft's site.
